I am a father of two daughters, 2 and 5. I have an advanced education in media and a career to match. I've also got a great deal of knowledge with computers, and know politics pretty well. I'm what I consider progressive (that is the most rights for the most people). I want to get into teaching media eventually, and I am trying to get a small biz off the ground. This is derived from my love of the arts - I want to make art that people appreciate. I also feel expressed in my creative desires when I do media or photography. If you are an artist with something to say that's a big plus. I thrive from a supportive challenge now and again to encourage me to evolve and get better at the things I love to do. I am a libra, and sometimes I can like my creature comforts a little too much. I need a little push from time to time, and I would also like to be that for you. I believe people can either continue to develop or stagnate. While I may not agree with all of Woody Allen's choices, he made a statement once about his movies.. he said "I want every movie I make to be better than the last one." at first I thought that was arrogant, because every film he made got to hollywood. But then as I learned the media arts, I understood the finer points of that statement. Now, I respect it.

I also honor intelligence whether or not you have a "formal education". some of the smarter people I've known have never set foot in a major school (my grandfather, carpenter by trade, taught me a great deal about life.) If you can understand my argument, make a good counter argument and make me think twice I will probably fall hard for you. It's sexy to me.

I am a unique mix of personality and smarts, and as a libra I feel drawn to create balance and equality. My last significant other and I kind of grew apart because found different interests over time, so I'd hope to have someone in my life who shares some or all of my goals in life.

Musically, I like techno, depeche mode, jazz, r and B, blues, some hard rock, but death metal is a bit too far (that stuff where some guy is screaming into a microphone, etc). No offense to their art, but it's not for me. Other then that I'm pretty much all over the map musically. I can safely say I like far more than I dislike.

I am getting out of a 12 year relationship and sorting things out and realizing I'm more empty handed than I thought I would be. I would like to have a friend, maybe more. I will warn you, I am a very sexual person. I would treat you with respect and care, and not enter that path with you unless you wanted and only at the right time if at all, but it is a part of me and I spent 12 years restraining that. I don't want to do that anymore. I certainly would not say that is the only part of a relationship, however. It's a mix of the right things between two people, and that mix is different each time.

I have a sense of humor that is part George Carlin, Part Robin Williams, and that's tempered with an intelligence like Carl Sagan. (so I've been told, anyway.) I can be crazy, or I can be serious. ideally I'd like to be able to have a little of all of that. I would like someone to be able to keep up with a sense of humor that sometimes requires a little smarts to "get". If you are a geek/nerd, even better. If you can outdo me at computer or media stuff I might just be your love slave :) (just kidding)

I would probably talk to you and see what you like. However, barring your input, I would probably suggest a movie, or a walk in the park (I know several great spots) or a nice dinner.

If you are more adventurous, perhaps we can hit a local watering hole or do something more intellectual like check out some art or a museum, etc.

However, I wouldn't want to make you feel any pressure or anything. If you felt comfortable, we could go to your place or mine, or we could go our separate ways. I realize that people are different and if you are like me you are a bit skiddish so you tend to be careful at first. I can respect that.

Basically I'd just want to have a good time with you. I'd love your suggestions too, as being a local for my whole life I fear I may have developed some routines I'd like to break now and again.
