I wrote this many yrs ago and still hope to find that one special, astonishing woman who can be the first voice that I hear in the morning, the last that I hear at night, someone to grow gracefully old with, and will be the love of my life for the rest of our lives.

I have been on and off online dating sites for a number of yrs and I have found that the pics are often inaccurate as often as the profiles. I have made a number of choices I have come to regret in dating and I have learned to pay closer attn to those little flags such as multiple marriages (and by this cautionary flag, I am considering three or more marriages in conjunction with the other flags), drug and substance abuse issues, a lack of good parenting skills....I seek a woman with a good moral compass who is a very good parent as I am with good parenting skills. I offer nothing less. I know she is out there, that very special sophisticated, graceful, classy, down to earth, compassionate and kind soul, for me. Physical attraction is essential, of course, but what I seek goes much deeper than that. I thought I came close twice in the past couple years, but in each case, they were beautiful women with substance abuse issues that rendered what we could have had incompatible for me. So if you do drugs or abuse one substance or another, for whatever reason or excuse, you are just not for me. And if you lie on your profile whether it is a simple thing like your age, or pics that are wildly inaccurate, or if you do drugs and say you don't, you are not for me. Why do that, you cannot keep the truth away for long?

I am very unattached and my pics are current. Just a guy looking for someone and something special and lasting.

I admit to being "work in progress" and have had a couple of wakeup calls that underscore what I really seek in a relationship and how I may best offer what I am capable of and can truly offer to another in a long lasting relationship, for both of us. It does take time, seven months or more to really see if there is a lasting connection, a really comfortable fit, for all time.
