So my two friends and I were out biking in Maryland this one time, and we got a little lost. After we spent about twenty minutes wandering in the woods I casually mentioned that I thought we should head a little more to the left. "Shut up you stupid Jew", was the quick response, "Your people spent 40 years in the desert making left hand turns". We spent the next ten minutes laughing our asses off before ending up on a beach, still no trail in site. There's a bit more to that tale I could tell, but the point is those people I actually get along with are quick witted, play hard and most importantly don't take things too seriously. I currently work in software down in Palo Alto, which can get boring but pays the bills. In my spare time I enjoy various outdoor activities, including biking and rock climbing. For health and moral reasons I maintain a vegetarian diet. Mostly, I prefer getting to know others in quiet, more intimate settings rather than interacting with a large boisterous group. I have been known to dance on occasion, but when I go out these days, it tends to be museums or bookstores as opposed to bars or clubs.

Coffee or lunch, where we can discover if there is mutual interest before planning on anything more complicated. Movies are a horrible first date because there is hardly time to speak with each other.
