Hi! Thanks for taking a minute to read about me. I'm an active 51 yr old and an outdoor/nature lover. I ride my bicycle 3-4 days/week and hike at a nearby rec area. I love camping and boating .. and just about anything on, in or near the water. I taught aerobics for 23 years .. one of the best decisions I ever made. Made lots of friends over the years and I got paid to exercise .. what could've been better?! I quit just over a year ago to satisfy a desire for more personal time and to explore other activities. One full time job is enough now.

I also love photography and find great satisfaction when I'm able to capture the beauty of nature/people in an image. Enjoy flower gardening, music, reading. Over the years I have tried and enjoyed bow hunting, boating (power and sail), parasailing, kayaking, skiing (both), snowmobiling. I've been divorced for 9 years, I own my own home and consider myself to be independent but do yearn to have someone in my life.

I have two great kids and a beautiful grandson. Both kids have moved out and are getting on with their lives and while I love that my kids are growing up, I miss all the activity around the house. My dog keeps me company but she doesn't talk. It’s way too quiet! Thus the decision to see if I can find someone special.

I am an open-minded person. "To each, his own" has been my guiding principle for years. I respect others' opinions and would expect that in return. I love to laugh. I am compassionate, considerate, supportive and non-judgmental. I've always enjoyed the simple things in life .. a happy face, a hug from someone dear, a beautiful flower or view, spending time with those I love .. those are the most important things in life. Material things are nice, don't get me wrong, but most are not necessary. Love is.

I love music of many genres. Have been listening to alternative lately as I'm a little sick of hearing the same songs over and over again on the classic rock stations. My ipod is one of my favorite gadgets, along with my camera.

I'm looking for a man who is sensible, kind, intelligent and fun to be with. Someone who also enjoys the outdoors. Hopefully he will love to travel and enjoy an occasional adventure. The man I’m looking for will make my heart go pitter-patter every time I see him. It won’t take long to know when I’ve met him.

It seems that the typical first date is dinner or appetizers and a beverage. This is fine so that we can get an initial impression of each other but not be committed to anything longer than an hour or so if the connection isn't there. If it IS there, a walk after dinner is what I would prefer so that we can talk. I'm definitely open to other activities for a first date but find that dinner is the most common way to connect for the first time.
