After reading many profiles, it appears that I am starting out with a severe disadvantage, because I don't own a motorcycle.

I'm a Training Manager for a financial services company, and specialize in retirement plans. That's right - I'm a pension geek. I have more Internal Revenue Code and IRS regulations relating to retirement plans stored in my head than the average person should be allowed to have. You can imagine the fun conversation at parties, can't you? I have a very warped sense of humor, love comedy (movies and stand-up), and enjoy most sports. My current favorite stand-up comedians are Chris Rock, Ron White and Lewis Black, but I also enjoy many others. I do love music. I enjoy classic, alternative and hard rock - not heavy metal - but hard rock. There IS a difference. Some of my favorite bands include Aerosmith (the older stuff), Breaking Benjamin, Theory Of A Deadman, 3 Doors Down, Puddle Of Mudd, Shinedown, Creed and many others.

I'm pretty laid back. My father once told me to never hit anyone, unless I was sure I could get away with it (not really - it's a quote from the movie "Stripes"). Being initially slightly shy and not that aggressive - I loosen up a bit as I get to know someone. I'm not very fluid in starting conversation, but I can contribute to one. I have a nearly 4-yr old daughter that means everything in the world to me. She lives with her mother and I get her one weekday evening and every other weekend. It's not enough, but the court says that's all I can have. My top priority in life is to be the best father that I can be. I understand the concept of women around my age not wanting to be involved with younger children, as I've run into that quite frequently. I do believe, however, that I could manage work responsibilities, fatherhood and a personal relationship - with the right person, of course.

I'm a man of character and I look for the same qualities in a significant other - honest, trustworthy, respectful, understanding and considerate - with a little but of a "wild side" when the right buttons are pressed. I don't formulate opinions or react to events without facts. Acting on "hunches" or purely emotion leads to bad decisions - and I've made my share of them. I'm not into solving other people's problems - I only offer alternatives if I'm prompted - the final decision resides with the person it directly affects. I believe that people should have more choices in life than what we have, and we seem to lose more of those choices as the years pass. I'm not one to argue and despise yelling and screaming - I'll live my life alone before I go through that. I've been somewhat of a homebody for a long time, but I'm up for a slight change regarding that aspect of my life. I'm not going to be looking to hangout in Broad Ripple, but an occasional dinner with a few drinks or attending a concert would be a relaxing alternative. Because I've been on my own so long, I'm pretty self-sufficient domestically - I'm not looking for anyone to cook, clean, do my laundry and ironing - I'm very capable. I've never been married and if it turns out I'm one of those people that just wasn't meant to be married - then I'll grudgingly accept that. However, I'm not looking to rush into anything.
