About Me
I just moved to Denver and I'm looking for some friends who I can hang out and get to know the town with. I travel for a living so I try to make the most of my home time by going out to eat and hitting as many clubs and bars as possible. I also DJ on the side, so I'm trying to get to know as many people in the nightlife industry as possible. I absolutely love Denver so far, but it would be nice to have a few more friends. Going to see movies by yourself gets old after awhile, ya know!?!?
When I'm not travelling around the States (for my job) I'm usually doing one of the following things: searching for the perfect bowl of pho, DJing, teaching myself how to skateboard, hanging out at a club, listening to music, training in some martial arts system, talking philosophy with my crew, planning my next overseas trip, watching Scrubs/ Psyche/ The Wire/ Monk/etc, drinking coffee, doing yoga, or going to a movie in town. I also take hella naps. Whenever, wherever I can.
My guiltiest of guilty pleasures are Fergie's "Glamorous" and Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right". It's not unusual for me to go to a club and just post up near the DJ booth to see what they're up to. It's all business!! I don't really dig alot of house music... it's fine, it's good for what it's good for, but it's not something I usually listen to when I'm by myself.
I have a thing about philosophy and religious studies. I'm absolutely fascinated by it, and I consider myself to be very open-minded (except for when closed-minded people are around, ironically). Some of my best friends in college were with the Campus Crusade for Christ, and we'd sit around and talk endlessly. They were fascinated by what I had to say about Taoism, I was fascinated by their acceptance of creeds that weren't their own. My own religious views, I usually keep to myself unless someone is genuinely interested in them. But I'm always willing to hear about other people's ideas and feelings.
I have the coolest wallet that you'll ever see. 4srsly. It's made out of paper. I was pissed to discover that Soul Haus sells them out here. Thought mine was unique. Chances are that you don't know anyone else who has one though, and that makes me happy.
I love to travel. I do it for a living, so I'm starting to get pretty good at it. I've been to Japan twice, Iceland, Denmark, Barbados, Mexico, and Canada, and part of the reason I moved out to CO was to get my cost of living down so that I could afford to do more pleasure travel. My next big destination is Morocco. I'm absolutely fascinated by that place. Other high contenders are Thailand/Vietnam, Italy, Spain, Russian, Easter Islands, Philipines, and China. I really love learning about other cultures, and when I travel I try to make as many friends as possible so that I can try and experience 'life' in other countries instead of just experiencing 'tourism' in other countries. I've met some really great people in my travels, and keeping up with them has been fruitful and entertaining.
I love cats. I love dogs, too. I'm an animal lover, and I really wish that I could have a pet... but with my job that's just not an option. Unless I could find something I could leave for a week at a time that would be totally self-sufficient, and I could still snuggle with when I got home. Maybe a pet rock??
I guess that's about it. I'm sure I'm leaving out alot of stuff (for example- I have red rocks in my bathroom sink...) but if I tell you everything on here, there won't be much mystery left, now will there?
Also... if you message me, and I don't message back, please don't take it as an insult, or as a personal affront. I'm sure you're a wonderful person, but if there's no spark, there's no spark- ya dig?
First Date
Depends on who I'm going on the date with! Anything from dinner and a movie (boring) to a cage fight in the Octagon (hells yeah!!!). Cooking is also always an option- I love to cook, I also love a good homecooked meal.
denveropiumdj has 2 roses that can be sent.
