If my friends and those who knew me best were asked to describe me, the words most often used would be funny, smart, witty, sarcastic, trustworthy. I can be all those things, at any given time. I'm shy at first, which may or may not come across as stuck up or snobbish. That's one thing I wish I could change, as it usually gives someone meeting me for the first time the wrong impression of me. But if they don't dismiss me right off the bat, they'll see the real me, the one that emerges when I feel comfortable around people. The easy going, fun loving, joking person, with a heart of gold.

What sets me apart, I think, is my empathy. I'm good at picking up on when someone's feeling down, or what subjects might be a touchy one to broach with someone. I can be sarcastic and be an instigator among my friends if the mood is right, but I also know when to cut it out and actually be an ear for them if something's bothering them. I don't forget birthdays, or anniversaries, or anything like that. And I'm always willing to listen if anyone needs someone to talk to.

I might as well toss this out there, since common interests always end up making or breaking a relationship. I like sports, but I'm not obsessed with them. I'll watch the game, but I won't break plans with you to do so. I like hanging out with my friends, but you'll never play second fiddle to them. I like going to a sports bar once in a while, or having a drink with friends, but I'm well past that point in my life where getting drunk with the boys is a priority. I like taking it easy, a quiet night in watching TV or a movie. I like summer sports, like swimming and rollerblading. And I'll go skiing, so long as I'm not expected to stay upright.

You know, sometimes I'm not sure what I'm doing on this site. I know my strengths, and I know my limitations. I'm not going to wow women with my looks or physique. My strength is my personality, and I realize that that might not have a chance to shine through since I can't turn heads with how I look. But I think that's one of the reasons I'm on here. I like a challenge. I want to meet someone who initially isn't attracted to my picture, only to then fall for my personality.
