About Me
I am new to Internet dating. I prefer meeting in person, but unlike in my youth, I no longer like hanging out in bars meeting shallow people. Not saying all people that hang out in bars is shallow. It's just very limiting in Pottsboro. If you are a high maintenance kind of gal, go to the next guy. I like slender intelligent professional women who can put two sentences together without screwing up one of them. You know who you are; informed, somewhat opinionated, not afraid to say what you think, witty, self-confident, and really hot looking. (OK, now I am awake and realize she does not exist)
Dating is a good way of meeting interesting people. But, once I met the right person, I prefer a monogamous relationship. I am not very good at juggling and probably call the other person by the wrong name. NOW THAT IS THE KISS OF DEATH.
Hobbies include golf and most outdoor activities. I also volunteer in community activates such as our volunteer fire department (past President) and our annual Boot Scootin Ball charity fund raising event. This year we raised over $130,000 net. Not bad for one Saturday night.
I am a techie kind of guy. I probably have most of the latest gadgets on the market (I think the marketing folks have a name for me). I embrace technology not run from it. It's here to make our life easier. Don't worry, most of my friends are technophobic, to the point I reset their clock on the microwave for them. I am an outgoing person that enjoys meeting others and never seem to meet a stranger. I have been told that I have a great sense of humor (hope that's not a kiss of death). I am a terrible dancer, but I enjoy music. My summers are normally full of lake activities. But, that really slows down in the fall. Not sure what I am going to do for the winter (any ideas). Maybe travel some ... Probably not, I traveled my entire work life and looking back that got old fast (maybe with the right person). Besides, lodging places will allow kids but don't like dogs (personally, I think that's reversed). Don't get me wrong, I like kids, just not the ones in Walmart.
Never having children, I don't carry much baggage mental or physical other than my 3-year-old black lab. For his part, he is very well behaved and knows at 5:00 p.m. that it's Frisbee time. Yes, he must be able to tell time. Daylight saving time confused him for a couple of days.
It is interesting between your birth age and how old you feel and act. I have met some people 40 that act and look like their 70. On the other hand some 70s look and act 40. Not sure where I fit. My Wii fit game console thinks I am 52. I think I can live up to early 50s.
First Date
That depends a lot on the other person. I think maybe a quiet dinner and then see where it goes from there.
A friend recommended a place with plenty of clearly marked exits. Not sure if they were inferring the exits are for me or the other person. Anyway, I hope we work out the surprises before we meet. Although, I do like Forest Gump's box of chocolate concept.
