About Me
(I'm answering the suggested questions out of sequence -- it just make more sense to start with who I am and conclude with my tastes in music.)
I think I'm the girl next door. I love my family, frinds -- grilling burgers and dogs at a backyard BBQ takes priority over bar hopping in the city. (Which is fine, too.) I'm the sixth of seven children, and the aunt to 10 biological neices and nephews, and the honorary "aunt" to many more. And, I'm proud to say, I'm the favorite aunt to many of these.
Humor is key - and I'm not just saying that to say it, I'm blooming hysterical. I'm trying to inject more humor into my description, but it's Sunday morning and I'm a little beat.
I'm pretty low-key -- big splashes rarly impress me. I'm much smarter than I give myself credit to be. I'm completely independent--it's great I can navigate my life on my own, but would love for someone to help out -- especially with carrying heavy objects and opening jars.
Hobbies to me always sounds like stamp collecting or knitting -- which I don't do either. So, I guess it's what I do with free time. I love music -- if I could, I would go to a concert every day. I've sat on the beach in Maui and look out over the Cliffs of Mohr in Ireland -- and my favorite place is still front row at a concert. Favorites: Wilco, REM, Robyn Hitchcoock, and I just discovered this guy, Andrew Bird -- who's amazing, so I go more that alternative/rock route.
I would love to parlay my love for music into my career -- since I've no talent, I would love something behind the scenes for a record label or the like. Right now, I need to figure out how I can switch industries without an enormous pay cut -- all ideas are welcome!!!
And I apologize for any misspellings -- I'm a horrible typist.
First Date
The ideal first date? Something very low pressue -- a few drinks and dinner. I think movies are odd for a first date because you have to sit in silence for at least 90 minutes, I think you really need to kow and be comfortable with someone to sit in silence. And if there is that uncomfortable "dirty" scene? No way. And if he's really into a slasher film and you want to see Sandra Bullock's latest romantic comedy? It's just setting you up for failure.
Meeting for ice cream & a nice walk in the park is good, too.
