What people usually notice about me is that I'm cheerful, bright, and attractive. What makes me happy is success -- even in small, unimportant things. What makes me VERY happy is going dancing. I’m open-minded and very non-judgmental, except that I abhor smoking and cruelty to children. I’d love a grandchild, but I’m fearful of getting what I wish for since my only child is just 22.

Let’s go! I did most of my world traveling before my son was born, but that was a long time ago, and now I'm ready to pick it up again. Closer to home, we could explore restaurants and maybe even the music scene now that there’s no smoking in bars. I have a full and happy life; it would be fun to share with a new friend.

I grew up in west Texas before I went to Vassar College and moved to Washington. My work is facilitating discussion in meetings. After working for the government for 25 years, I've enjoyed being self-employed since 1995. When I’m not working, I spend my time in exercise classes, power-walking, playing bridge, reading murder mysteries, doing crossword puzzles, and volunteering in a kindergarten classroom and tutoring with the Literacy Council. I'm addicted to public radio and wake up happy on Saturday mornings when I can listen to "Car Talk" and “Wait, Wait, don’t Tell Me.” I affirmatively dislike shopping. Almost anything else I've ever thought of doing is fine with me. Well, I'm not too keen on camping. Come to think of it, pets make me itch. Oh, and I get seasick.

If we seem to hit it off in phone conversations, I'd like to go for coffee and maybe a stroll around Bethesda. What would win my heart is a dancing date at the Carlyle Club in Alexandria -- especially if Daryl Davis is playing.
