I'm passionate about family, friends, writing and a few choice sports (both as participant and fan). I come from a very close, fun-loving family with a sick sense of humor. You'd like them. Physically, I'm a good ten years younger than my age indicates. Mentally? That's another question.

What do I like? Energy, kindness, creativity, independence, animals, kids, athleticism, conspiratorial laughter. My pet peeves? Emoticons, photoless profiles, inebriation, jealousy, reckless driving, non-recyclers, smoking.

I'm looking for someone to have fun with. An attractive woman who respects her mind and body. I can be a terrific friend and a doting fool with the right woman. I'll give you your privacy and personal time (because I need those, too), but if we're really into each other I tend to be very affectionate.

I like anything outdoors, but especially canoeing in narrow waterways, camping on islets, some tennis. I like being indoors, too. Often. Quiet times - movies, simple dinners, caressing...It's all good. I like kids, though I haven't any of my own. Lots of nieces and nephews, however, of all ages. Every one of them a blast.

While I'm excited about finding right person to share my good life with, I'm not desperate. We'll know fairly quickly if the chemistry's there or not. You don't need to clock me the first time we meet, but that intangible "Hmmmmm...." has to be there. Or why continue, right?

When you tire of all the players and immature birds out here and wonder "Are there any decent humans left among the male species?"...send me a note. I have my complexities, but I'm an honorable guy.

Street festivals are good, if you can find them. Lunch or dinner (as long as neither of us orders potentially messy entrees). Locally, the Carnegie Museum of Art is a good spot. That way, we can make fun of paintings and sculptures instead of each other. If there's a lecture on astronomy or archaeology, all the better.
