About Me
I am a former psychotherapist turned Christian minister who has great communication skills, very good listener and great conversationalist. Enjoy dining, cooking, sports, music (I play guitar, harmonica, and sing, also compose country gospel music), dancing, writing (poetry and newspaper articles), travel, reading, theater, movies, exercise ... love "Columbo" and "The Fugitive" two of my favorite series now on DVD. I am very caring, loving, loyal, unique in that I still believe in writing love letters, sending greeting cards, hosting candlelight dinners, and sharing bubble baths with scented candles. Love full body massages as well as great conversations. I may be above reproach but I'm not dead! Love to laugh and have fun with someone special and possess a great sense of humor. Laughter really IS the best medicine. I am looking for that special lady with whom to share a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a strong and lasting love for each other. I have been through the valley, as well as the mountaintop, and have experienced the agony of divorce as well as the thrill of marriage. I believe the best we can do is to strive for excellence and not perfection, and to learn from our past but not dwell in it. I am highly educated, have a Bachelor's degree, two Master's degrees, and four Doctorates including a Ph.D. in Psychology and Christian Counseling. I was diagnosed with cancer in 1994 and was given up for dead, but I made it through! God wasn't finished with me yet! He had more work for me to do and I'm a cancer survivor for the past 15 years! I know what it means to face a life-threatening place and I know how precious life is and that every day we live is a true gift from God. I am very grateful to be able to continue to serve Him and all others who need me. I had three children, two of whom died young, and the third chooses not to communicate with me at all, so, for all intents and purposes, I have lost all three of them. I know the heartaches associated with loss and how we grieve for all those we have loved and lost. If you are interested in contacting me, hope to hear from you very soon. My blessed toast for you is this: Lobster when you're hungry ... Champagne when you're dry ... Someone dear to love you ... and Heaven when you die!!! May God richly bless you!
First Date
A lunch or coffee date might be in order here so that we can share some really good conversation and begin to get to know each other better. Emailing is also a great option prior to meeting for the simple reason that emailing is much like dating because it allows each person to put their thoughts into words and then share them with the other person. It's a great beginning and can lead to so much better understanding of each other even prior to a first personal encounter.
