How would someone describe me? I guess these words might get tossed into a description: caring, genuine, selfless, intelligent, thoughtful, loving, balanced, charming, giving, faithful, hard-working, playful, funny...

One thing you may find is that I will disappear from here from time to time... I am a single-threaded dater. If I meet someone I like I prefer to focus and see if there is a real connection rather than playing the field. My ideal *second* date is with someone who feels the same way. I am all about quality versus quantity.

I would have to say that I am generally a very positive person. That doesn't mean that I am complacent... Actually, I am just the opposite. I always look for challenges. New things have never scared me. I recently jumped ship from a high flying software company to go off with some friends and start a new business.

I love to travel and have seen 43 countries so far. I love to learn new things and am always challenging myself. A few years ago I had a customer in Malaysia and got to travel around South East Asia a bunch. I learned a little Thai, a few words of Vietnamese, and some Cantonese. I would love to round out my knowledge of a few more languages and feel comfortable enough to carry on a prolonged conversation...

I really think I am both balanced and well grounded. Not too much really drives me crazy. I tend to experience my emotions and then not bask in them. Life is really about what we make of the journey. The destinations we hope to get to are important; but the process of getting there is even more important. If we take delight in the small things, everything else becomes easy... Be prepared to laugh because at heart I am a goofball. I don't take myself too seriously and enjoy a woman who can let the inner little girl out to play every now and then...

My ideal match would be able to pickup and leave for a weekend get-away with a moment's notice (and be able to fit in a carry-on ;-). She would want to see the world and be adventurous enough to go places and experience things as locals do.

She would look forward to coming home from work and would be more than happy to cuddle on the couch and watch a good movie or catch an episode of The Office. She would be just as comfortable cooking as sitting back and watching me whip up a nice meal. She would like to go out (for dinner, dancing, movies, etc.) just as much as she would like to chill at home. She would be athletic and would like a workout partner (always easier to motivate when your 'better half' is gearing up for a run or a trip to the gym). She would be happiest holding hands, walking arm-in-arm and randomly stopping in the middle of the sidewalk for some inspired PDA...

She would be loving, intelligent, positive, and independent. I am not looking for a project. I've done that and it never seems to work. The best relationships are those where you can give where there is no dire need. Being independent doesn't mean that she wouldn't appreciate and accept the help that I want to give (it's always better to give help to those that could use it but don't always think they need it). I expect that everyone on Match has had their heart broken once or twice. I am looking for the type of woman who wants to meet a man and love him like she's never been hurt before. No hangups about the risk of letting go and giving love a chance. No ex-boyfriends or ex-husbands waiting in the wings as a safety net. Love is scary; but when you meet the right person letting go and being in love should be natural and exciting...

BTW -- I am very close with my family and do like to visit them once every few months. Hope you don't mind an occasional trip to Las Vegas (baby). Don't worry... On most of my trips to see family I never even set foot in a casino (unless I am going dancing or out for a nice meal) :-)
