I'm a software designer and I really enjoy my work, but I don't live to work. I've done that before and I think you miss out on too many other important things in life. I want to find someone to share life with, and that includes time.

I play the clarinet in a concert band and love it, for the music, for the social connections, for the fun of it. I enjoy bike riding and you'll find me on my bike at least once on most weekends from April through October.

Summer is the best as long as it's not too hot - mostly for all there is to do. Concerts at Millenium Park, SummerDance (if you've never gone, check it out on-line), some serious and some not so serious bike riding, outdoor restaurants, walks in the neighorhood. I like most kinds of music except C&W, and most Sunday evenings in the summer I'm at Concerts on the Green in Frankfort. It's a great way to end one week and begin a new one.

Part of being blessed with a great life is giving back, in whatever way you're able and it's something I'd love to share. I'm involved with Newborns in Need, a national organization, with the work going on at the grassroots level, to help babies and their families in crisis. I'm looking for someone who not only cares about me, but sincerely cares about others.

I'm really proud of my two sons, one a junior in college, the other a freshman, both at the U of I in Champaign. Just as my younger one is starting a new phase of his life, I'm ready to change paths and explore new things and new opportunities myself; I hope we might take this ride together.

For a first date, I'd like to talk and start getting to know each other a little. An early Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast, a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or whatever you'd like. I'm open to trying different things and it's not about what we do, it's doing things together.
