Hey there. I'm new to this on-line thing but I suppose most of us are. So what can I write so that you have an idea of what I am about? Not a clue. I don't believe it's possible to capture what moves us, motivates us and intersets us in a few short lines - maybe in a book. But if I have to try to characterize myself, this would be the high level stuff.
Have been single (again) for a couple of years but up until now have focussed a lot of my time on my 2 kids. Now that they're a bit older and spending more time with friends, it's time for Dad to spend more time on himself - so here I am.
I'm a layed-back guy but like to stay active and have a good time. I'm big into skiing in the winter and camping in the summer. I try to keep in good shape by working out and bike riding to work. Also like to hang out with my close circle of friends who all have kids around the same age - lots of trips (camping, houseboating, skiing...) where we let the kids run amuck, while we do the same.
Love to travel and experience exotic places although sometimes a lazy beach vacation is a winner.
Here's a few topics and my perspective:
- hiking in the Rockies (or anywhere): always awe-inspiring
- quiet evening with a glass of wine: absolutely wonderful
- politics: they screw up so often how could you not be livid
- time with friends: the best times
- pushing your physical limitations: medicinal, invigorating
- partying to your limit: same as above (on the right occasions)
- partying past your limit: not so much as above
- same sex marriage: sure, go ahead, but you don't get the tax breaks
- pets: I have 2, love them to death
- TV sitcoms: mindless waste of time (with the odd exception)
- documentaries, history, nature programs: fascinating, always want to learn
- children: mine (awesome) - yours (????)
- sunny summer day: an opportunity not to be wasted
- decent winter day: same as above - let's go skiing, skating, a walk...
- Austin Powers: my role model

First date? It seems like a lifetime since I had a first date. I'd take you out for a nice quiet dinner - somewhere casual where we could just relax and get to know each other better - see if there's a connection. After that, a walk along the river or through one of the parks.
