About Me
ABOUT ME I just finished up my law degree at Ave Maria Law School, and I'm currently studying for the Florida bar. Staying with my folks in New Hampshire in the interim. I have a degree in civil engineering from The Catholic University of America (c/o 2001). I went back to school after working in construction management full time for five years. I've always had an itch to study law, so I finally decided to go for it before it got to be too late. Ideally I'd end up in intellectual property law. I'm pretty laid-back for the most part. I like to play pool, poker, watch movies, play video games (particularly classic games), go snorkeling, and play volleyball, though I'm up for most anything fun.
I'm also a big kid at heart. I'm perfectly fine with throwing in a Looney Tunes or Muppets DVD after a long day of studying. I love goofy golfing, air hockey, skeeball... those kinds of games. Heck, I think a trip to Chuck E Cheese would be a blast! (Plus, I really like their pizza!) Plus, I'm a pretty big geek as well. I was on the concrete canoe team in college if that gives you any idea! I don't necessarily need a woman to have these same qualities, but she would have to be able to appreciate them about me.
My other hobby is photography. I haven't had much time to keep up with it lately, but I plan on getting back into it when I'm done with the bar (depending on what job I end up with, that is). My main interests are architectural photography and portraits. I don't usually like how studio portraits turn out; I prefer taking peoples pictures more in their element. If you're curious, I have a portfolio of some of my favorites at www.stephenphotos.hostzi.com/ . WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR I'm not looking for anything serious at the moment. I don't have a clue where I'll end up after taking the bar, so I can't commit to anything until I get the ol' career ball rolling. I'm looking for a fun-loving, easy-going woman. Age isn't all that important to me. A sense of humor is a must; I'm not really "looking" for a sense of humor, but I don't think a humorless woman and me would be able to tolerate each other for more than five minutes. She also has to be smart. Long term, I see myself ending up with a devout Christian woman. My faith life is too important to me (and hopefully too important to an other) to not share with a woman. I'm looking to get to know all types of people for the moment. If you'd like to chat, and don't mind an offbeat sense of humor, feel free to send me a message.
First Date
A nice dinner is always a good choice for a first date. Something with good food and a social, but not too loud, atmosphere.
The first date details can be worked out later. but what about the first message. I always have trouble thinking of something unique to say in a first message. If anybody wants to message me and doesn't have something specific in mind beyond "hi wana chat?", try one of these icebreaker questions (or make your own; the more random, the better): -- Favorite Simpsons character, and why? -- Best/worst vacation you've ever had? -- The last song that played on your radio or mp3 player? -- Do you have any tattoos? If so, of what? -- If not, would you ever get one if pain weren't a consideration? If so, of what? -- List two random factoids about yourself.
