I am re-entering the dating world after a long relationship. While I was born in NY I have a European background (German & French heritage). I love to travel and have visited Europe and Asia several times. I love Italy, Spain and Germany.

I am outgoing and funny - in a sarcastic kind of way (I'm a fan of the Daily Show and Colbert Report). I'm an observer of human nature - I find it fascinating to meet someone new and learn about their experiences, background, interests. While everyone enjoys being the center of attention, I am not at all self centered. I enjoy having a conversation rather than doing all the talking (or just listening to someone talk).

I'm a contrarian and typically don't follow the crowd (never been and will never go to disneyland :) I prefer to look behind the curtain to see what's really happening. While I can be spontaneous, I like having a plan. It's great to wake up one morning and decide to go to the beach, but it won't be much fun if there is a hurricane coming up the coast.

I stay fit by playing a lot of tennis, swimming and working out when I can. Musically, I am a fan of alternative and grunge rock - Nirvana, Staind, Green Day. But I can also relax over a drink and listen to jazz.

I have 3 children that are a big part of my life - a daughter and 2 sons. I try to be an active and involved father as much as I can.

I'm looking to date an independent woman that has her own life that she wants to share and that is open to sharing my life. I'd like her to be comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt during the day and then dress up in a nice dress and heels in the evening - and enjoys looking good and being the center of attention.

For our first date I would like to have a casual dinner/drink at a nice restaurant so we could talk and get to know each other. I would prefer an outdoor location so we could enjoy the summer and atmosphere. I like all kinds of food but would prefer Italian, a good steak or sushi.

2nd dates depend on the person and our interests, but we live in one of the greatest cities in the world so exploring NY/NJ is always fun....especially with someone new...
