Now that I'm retired, I would like to find a man I can spend the rest of my life with. Reaching that goal won't be immediate - we need to make sure our goals and interests are similar (for the most part) and that we have that wonderful "chemistry". My closest friends describe me as a loving and giving person, a great listener and fun to be with. I am a great "all-weather" friend, being there through thick and thin.
The traits that I appreciate most in a partner are honesty, loyalty, the ability to laugh and to make me laugh, and to be able to communicate openly (there's that communication bugaboo again!). You are self-confident, and I will see it in your eyes and smile. You know who you are and proud of it (but humble, of course!). I believe in treating others as I would like to be treated - with respect first and foremost, and dignity. Everyone in this world in just trying to survive, and some of them do it different than I would, but I try to give everyone some slack and try to see the world - or situations - from their perspective. I expect nothing more of a partner than I expect of myself.

If I could live anywhere it would be in a home that overlooks the ocean or a lake, even from a distance. I've lived on the water, and it brings a very special quality to one's life.

I like to cook (but not everyday) and entertain - although it is much more fun when you are in the kitchen with me, either helping or keeping me company!

I am financially secure - I retired 4 years ago, and spend some of my time volunteering at a wildlife hospital and at a Kaiser hospital. I like to be active, and am open to almost anything (although skydiving isn't on my list of must-do's!). I've done some traveling - Russia, Ireland, France, Italy, Mexico, Caribbean, Canada, parts of the US. Would like to do more - I prefer the warmer climes. Next year I am going to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu - have you been there?
