First of all, let me say, there are not enough "I am looking for" options. If choosing a combination would be possible mine would be, in this order, "email, text, talk, hang out, and if anything long term happens that's great!" Those of you who don't text, please accept my apologies, but I love to send random texts/pictures throughout the day, knowing I'm causing a reaction on the other end, whether the reaction is just to make a friend laugh, or something else! ' '
My boys are the most important aspect of my life; My job is the most imposing part of it, but I'm working on changing that!
I'm not terribly active, although in the past couple years I've made an effort, with fair success, to get my 51 year old body back into shape through walking and isometrics.
Although I'm not an avid hiker I love walking in our local parks and absorbing the outdoors, the smells, the colors, the sounds. I have a thing for TREES. My dream home would be living in a house cradled in the branches of a hundred year old oak.
For those of you from the Indiana area, I LOVE Blue Spruce. I've made amazing discoveries there in the summer, found so much beauty there in the fall, contemplated much sadness while sitting on the far hillside during both. I would truly like to find someone to explore the park with me in all seasons.
I love a sense of humor and need people around me who get MY sense of humor, which can be rather quirky at times.
I tend to be a loner.
Although I can handle any social situation, I do not ENJOY most of them. I prefer small settings with just a friend or two. It's hard to beat sitting around a late night camp fire answering trivia questions with my sisters, their husbands, and all our kids. On the other hand, a night out with live music, alcohol, and lots of laughter is occasionally fun.
I have always been more comfortable talking to men than women. At this point in my life I really miss having conversation with, and the companionship of a man who can make me laugh,who can let me be silly, yet who can be serious, understanding, and tolerant when need be.
If your work is in the area of education or medicine (conventional or alternative) it would be a big plus. Both are of high interest to me. And, if you happen to be into percussion (the drum corp/marching band kind, this could be the frosting on the cake for me! This will sound strange to many, but that's my favorite music. When I walk the track at our local park I walk to cadences and percussion performances!
If you say you are looking for dating and that translates into "I'm just interested in sex and/or a one night stand" or if, when say you want long term, you mean you want long term sex, not emotional involvement... please pass me by. I want mental stimulation more than physical.... although the physical is rather nice too! ' '
I've missed out on a lot of common things of life in the last 25 years. I stayed in my own little box, of my own making, as to not make too many waves. I would like to find someone who can be, not only a friend, but a also a teacher, who will explore with me and who can show me the joys, the miracles, especially the miracles of nature, that I've missed.
And.... the written word will get me every time!
In the long run I'm looking for my soul mate, but at this time I just want the togetherness I can feel from good conversation and laughter with the right person. |

7/2009: Hitting one of the nearby state parks with a cooler of crackers, cheese,. fruit, and seltzer water. Parking chaise lounges in the sun, yet keeping the shade trees nearby. Talking and hopefully laughing, Humor is very important to me.
Updated 10/2009: Oh, my, it's rather cold today so I guess it's time to think of a 1st cold weather date. I guess that would have to be meeting for coffee, so we could talk and see if there is any spark. I hate meeting for the first time where there are a lot of people but options are rather limited in cold weather. |
