Looking for the 'quirky girl'!

I am an engineer by trade, apparently straight laced and 'normal', but I am also a singer in a punk rock band which is great exercise for the alter ego. I hardly ever listen to punk these days, having mellowed somewhat over the years.

I am interested in politics and philosophy, but I have to mix up my reading to avoid getting too heavy or going nuts! So anything from Plato to Bill Bryson. I also love to play golf and snooker if time allows and I play 'veterans' football about twice a year!

I have a somewhat peculiar sense of humour which can sometimes, but very rarely, be misunderstood. I find watching people far more entertaining than the TV, but if any of The Godfather films are on, or particularly Pulp Fiction, I will be glued to that for the hundredth time!

My only real remaining goals are to stay succesful in my career, learn to jive, for my band to play at the O2 (or at least to more than 100 people!), to go back to New York again soon and to find love again. Not necessarily in that order.

I am not a clubbing sort of chap, but I like to spend time with my sons and friends over a pint, or hosting dinner parties, and I like to think that I see the good in everyone. I mix well with all sorts of people, but prefer to be somewhere where you can hear what the other people are saying.

I am looking for a 'quirky' girl, an oddball, the strange one, not a housewife, cook, nurse or anything like that. But if you are the 'quirky one' message me!


I want to want to hold your hand......whoever you may be.

I would be very careful to meet somewhere with an easy escape for either of us, and only for a short while in case we hate each other! On the other hand if we decide that we love eachother and want to go off and get married immediately.......So I reckon it needs to be a church, with a bar, restaurant, and (no longer) a smoking area. Know of such a place? Seriously, I am a simple kind of chap, pint and a curry, walk on the beach, that kind of thing.
