Lived near Lansing until the late '90s when I moved near Lake Michigan. Returned about 5 years ago due to a job change. Would love to be back near the lake, but trailering the boat for weekends will have to do for now. I have a wide variety of interests with outdoor fun like fishing, camp fires, hiking... at the top of my list. My favorite season is any without white stuff on the ground which really makes me appreciate Michigan in the summer. Really need to find that job where I can spend April through October here and winter in the Florida Keys. Could drive my sports car and use the boats all year long!
I love to see other parts of the country/world. Have been to all but 2 states (can you guess which two are missing... hint: one isn't Alaska). Not too much outside of the US and Canada yet, but would love to go see ancient Greece & Rome and the Middle East. Australia and New Zealand too. I really like the laid back atmosphere of the Florida Keys but it is getting a little too commercialized there too.
Summer time in Michigan means concerts on the lawn at Pine Knob (DTE), fishing, Tigers baseball, grilling, and golf to me. I like most types of music (sampling of my favorites above in the playlist) -- twangy country and hardcore rap/hip-hop... not so much! Winter is more challenging for me but going to a concert, movie or to MSU for basketball or hockey works. I actually want to go see the new Harry Potter movie... the previous ones were great fun (not sure how the author comes up with that stuff -- my guess is that mind altering substances

were involved to some degree)
Until a few years ago I had pretty much figured I was going to be bachelor for ever. Had not looked very hard and hadn't found that special someone either -- not easy to do when you work alot and don't go to bars and such. I did meet someone though and unfortunately she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. It has taken a few years but I think I'm now ready to find that special feeling again. It sounds cliche, but I'm really looking for someone that would be a great friend. We don't have to share every single moment or interest, but should share common values and humor. Now if you like to go catch salmon or walleye... bonus!

First dates are always awkward. Needs to be something interesting but also have the atmosphere to talk and get to know you a little. I really like baseball (played up through college) and while it is not great baseball, going to a Lugnuts game and dinner might be fun (or if you're adventerous... ballpark food at the game! Over on the west coast I would suggest going down to a Lake Michigan pier with a picnic dinner and have a beach campfire and watch shooting stars while talking and listening to the waves... but not sure where that would work here. Might have to try it though.
