I'm just terrible at describing myself. So, I'll start with the basics. Single. Never married. No children. One older sister. Parents divorced when I was in my 20s. I've been in school pretty much all of my life, and I've also been working my entire adult life. School and work just happen to coincide now. I have a mostly decorated house that needs a lot of landscape help. I have 2 middle aged cats and a puppy. I listen to mainly pop, rock, and country music. I'm learning guitar, and I read a LOT of books.

One day, I will...write a book. never be a student again. get married. have children. actually read jane austen instead of just watch the movies. make a quilt exactly the way my grandmother did it instead of cheating and using a sewing machine halfway through....

As far as what I'm looking for in a man. I'd like someone who is ready to settle down. I'm at that point in my life where I would like to be in a relationship that consists of more than 3 or 4 dates and has something more emotionally impacting than "what do I wear?". I would like someone with a steady job, a level-head, a kind heart, a funny disposition, and maybe some sarcasm and wit too. I am looking for a nice guy but not so nice that your second job is as a door mat at Wal-Mart. I don't want to be your mother; you need a mind and ideas of your own. Classical education isn't exactly a must, but intelligence is. I want to be able to go toe to toe with someone, and you must be able to hold your own.

If you are only looking for sex, keep on going. I'm looking for more.

For a first meeting/date, I usually prefer to go for coffee. Coffee houses are quieter than bars which allow you to actually have a conversation. I like the relaxed atmosphere, and I can talk for quite a while. : ) If we hit it off, we can go from there. Maybe dinner or mini-golf or bowling. Maybe something fun if an event is going on downtown. As far as other dates go, dinner and a movie is cool, but I do like to do other things like museums, theater, concerts, flea market/antique shopping, etc. I'm not really into the whole bar/club thing, but I can be conned into it. I'm not overly adventurous, but with some kind of compromise, I'll meet you halfway.
