First of all, I don't think we are meant to be alone. I am looking for what I believe so many of us are - a true, meaningful & loving relationship to last the rest of my life. All of us have some baggage and scars from the past. The secret I suppose, is doing the best you can not to let them interfere with the present.
I would like to meet someone who is honest, considerate, loyal, non-judgemental, willing to compromise, affectionate (public displays are no problem!), and not afraid to express thoughts and feelings. This person would also be my best friend and confidante since that is the foundation of a lasting relationship. A good sense of humor is a must! Life is just too short to take yourself seriously all the time. Being flirtatious and playful with your partner is helpful in keeping the romance/passion alive.
Doing those special things for your friend/lover "just because" means so much.
Some of the things that I would be interested in doing with a partner would be traveling to places like Hawaii (never been!), taking the old Route 66 from beginning to end and seeing more of the Southern and New England states with all historical sites would interesting and great fun as well. For something closer to home - spontaneous day or weekend trips (to the coast especially!) are very enjoyable.
Other interests include bike riding, walking/hiking, weight training several times a week, boating, movies, reading, dining out, dancing, music/concerts, sushi, wine tasting and of course - being able to include a special someone in all these activities would make them much more pleasurable!!
