Retired three years, I like music, go to concerts (currently have some pairs of tickets that need a second person). I like pop/rock, classical, big band (but I'm not a dancer) and can tolerate some non-twangy country . Fifties music is not generally my cup of tea, too corny. CD's you'd hear would includes the Beatles (separately & combined), Eagles, Dixie Chicks, Monkees, CSN&Y, Neil Young, John Mellancamp, Willie Nelson, Ricky Nelson, Traveling Wilburys, Clapton, Roy Orbison, Roy Rogers, Gustav Holst's Planets, 1812 Overture, New World Symphony, I could go on forever. My goal, at this point in life (at age 61 & retired), is to live with little stress, enjoy myself, and keep on learning something new everyday. I'm a collector, mainly Wedgwood china. I curated an exhibition in Baltimore in 2007, decorated a museum, bought a computer and software and created a 48 page catalog. I like to go to the beach (for the beach, not for the Boardwalk) so I try to hit the Outer Banks every year. I'm from a big family, nine siblings, and they're all different. I used to be a computer programmer, then a communications specialist, for the federal government. I still communicate with some of the friends I made in Berlin during 1969 & '70, where I was stationed in the Army. My appearance changes seasonally. One of the pictures on my profile is from a 2000 Army reunion in Berlin. My long hair is history (but may return) and my beard is now all white. My new picture was taken July 25; my dad thinks I dye my hair, but no. God's trick on me is two tone hair.

First dates are probably best kept light. I'd go with a date's choice of being picked up or meeting; meeting allow a fast exit if that is indicated. I'd plan on a meal at a very public location, and be open to any suggestion of brevity, if that need arises. There's no point in sticking around for a long time if there's an adverse chemical reaction. As I said above, I do like music, and I enjoy going to the Rams Head in Annapolis, as an option. I like movies too, but you can't talk while watching them. That said, dinner and a movie, and if we want, a drink afterward works for me. And, I'm flexible, and would entertain your ideas if you prefer.
