Well we are all getting a second chance to make a first impression and we are all much more experienced in our decision making ability, hopefully. I believe in total honesty so my first pitch will be what non open minded people may think is a liability. I am a paraplegic from a Harley accident in the early 80's. I had a Grade 9 education, actually three years of grade 9 so I was a good student. I then moved to Nova Scotia as those were the "back pack" years.
There was a mature student opportunity at Dalhousie Law School as I was currently working during my nineteen year tenure for a major chartered Bank. I was granted a leave of absense if successful but was overrun by the naysayers. I passed the LSAT's (Law School Admission Tests), secured my references, was interviewed and was very fortunate to secure one of the fifteen positions. There were only two of us without undergraduate degrees. I did have three years of Grade 9 though, nobody else did.
I was the only one to pass Law School, completed my Articles, passed the Bar Exams, and was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barrister's Society. I currently live alone with my sanity keeper, a Purebred Germain Wire Haired Pointer. Actually she has taken over the house and lets me stay here, lol.
I had a person a few years back go through a red light and pretty well crush my left side on my Custom Harley Davidson Trike. I must give credit to the late genius Mike "Toad" Roach whom we lost a few years back who built the Trike for me. It opened a whole new world again and I met a lot of very nice people from all parts of life. I actually still have to gain a little more strength and stamina to get to where I want to be. The physio's have told me to stop working out that I am fine but they don't know the lifestyle I lead.
I am looking for a long term relationship. As a friend I hope to know better said; don't mind being alone, I like my company, and I have a dog. She went further and said I do not like being lonely. Best explanation I have ever heard of how I feel.
I can bring a lot to the table. I am very experienced in the working world and have lived on both sides of the tracks so to speak so I certainly know how to treat a lady. I am not going to put down the shopping list of positive attributes that we all seem to have somewhere in our profiles.
I will say that I am physically and financially independent. I will have a good pension but anyone who thinks I am rich or ventures forward for travelling had better bring their lunch. I may of been born at night, but not last night.
I like kids. In fact the bump on my head in my picture is gone. I coached little league baseball for 3 years and had very stringent guidelines as to where a bat could be swung for safety reasons.
Ever know a co-ed group of 10 to 11 year olds that liked rules, ouch! Good old rock and roll, well it's my favourite music and I actually was hearing it.
Well I have already written too much but please take note that I have broad shoulders. You can ask or say anything and you will not offend me.

I think the wording 'first date' puts too much pressure on a situation where you are meeting someone for the first time just to see if you MAY be compatable.
For me a relaxing casual quazi private atmosphere pretty well anywhere upstanding is the best. Both individual's have to have a level of comfort. Perhaps somewhere that can spark a conversation by it's surroundings to break the ice, or a quiet secluded spot where two adults can talk about their thoughts and not have a number of people over hearing the conversation. Again the level of comfort factor plays a role.
My personal agenda would be to make my partner feel totally at ease. The best way to do that is by asking. Both party's input should be respected.
Perhaps take in a show at the Casino, they have a number of concerts from our era that are not expensive then a stroll through the Casino followed by a stroll along the Boardwalk.
My experience has been the less structured an evening is the more fun it is. It is fun to be spontaneous, why not the first time we meet. Meeting for a coffee at Tim Hortons certainly doesn't set any kind of mood.
This is not rocket science. Make sure you are both comfortable. What better time to demonstrate that you are meeting as equals.
