I have a technical mind and sometimes maybe try to over analyze things. I am sometimes a perfectionist depending on what I am doing. I guess I got that trait by working in the aerospace industry for over 30 years. I am a caring, honest and fun loving individual looking for the same. I don't like to be around smokers and I am not a churchgoer although I do have spiritual beliefs. I am looking for a long term monogamous relationship. I like children; I have two adult children of my own. I play tennis about three times a week and softball in season. Lately, I have also started going to the gym three days a week to get into better shape. I like the Yankees and most other local sports teams. I would like to meet someone who is easygoing, if possible a fairly good tennis player (although this is not necessarily a high priority) and has a good sense of humor. Appearance is not a major issue as long as you don't look like you don't care about yourself. If you don't care about yourself, how can you care for others? Someone who is not dependent on me, but still enjoys being a couple. I also work an overnight shift, so I sleep at various times during the day according to my other activities. I used to be involved in scouts both as a member as a kid and then as a leader, so I guess you can say I have some experience and love for the outdoors also. Although I haven't done it for some time, I like to go camping, hiking and rafting / canoeing again. I will try most new things once with very few exceptions. I can cook (like to cook mostly Italian food) and like most types of music. Although I listed myself as having "a few extra pounds", I am also pretty athletic, some sports better than others of course.

On a first date I prefer to go out to dinner. I feel this is the best way to have an informative conversation in order to learn as much as two people can about one another and can determine a little more quickly whether the two of us are compatable.
