About Me
Yes, chivalry still exists! I open doors, rise when you enter a room, assist with your seat at a restaurant, walk on the outside of the sidewalk…but that is how I was raised, and I have never abandoned that sense of responsibility and care for whomever I am with – my girlfriend, my sisters, even female business friends.
Do you think that is old fashioned? Or respectful?
Though I was raised Jewish, I am largely non-observant, going to temple only on Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippur. Rather, I recognize that the cultural values of respect and life-long learning have influenced my life tremendously.
In the last few years, I have transformed my Pasadena back yard into a combination native plant garden and mini-kibbutz. Certified as a wildlife habitat. My three beagles keep other mammals away, but there are plenty of birds and bees - especially hummingbirds.
I appreciate hot, spicy cuisines, and do a lot of cooking, especially Indian food. Food should bite back! One of the best ways to spend a lazy Sunday is to cook together, exploring new cuisines or enjoying old favorites. A nice restaurant is fine once in a while, but there is nothing like sharing food you have created together.
My taste in music is eclectic – I like world music/folk music (from Irish music to Greek, Croatian, Hungarian, Argentine Tango, even Beijing Opera in small doses. In American music - good old fashioned blues, Cajun/Zydeco, Big Band and Swing. Sirius 65 Bluegrass is on my favorites list, as well as 74 Bluesville).
My favorite activity is dance - Swing, Ballroom, Cajun/Zydeco, Contra Dance. Even very familiar with everything from Greek dancing to Swedish couple dances.
These days I am working with a group of medical and business professionals in expanding global distribution for what has been called the most important health discovery in the last 50 years (www . prosperityandhealth . com) I also demo and distribute Kangen Water generators so people can reduce the damage from free radicals through drinking highly anti-oxidant alkaline water (www . thewaterforhealth . NET)
My personal philosophy is that there is nothing more important than your health - without it, what does all the money in the world matter? Anti-aging and wellness continue to be important themes in my life. Though I just turned 56, I still feel as if I am in my early 40s.
Way back in high school I competed in gymnastics on the still rings, an individual achievement sport though the team is scored as a whole. I subsequently never developed the team sports bug; I do not watch sports on TV - or go to spectator sports events. However, I like hiking and would like to do more of it. Didn't get up to Mammoth to ski last season - I miss it.
First Date
A first date doesn't need to be fancy - the company is the important factor. I don't drink coffee - so Starbucks would not be my first choice. Tea, however, is another matter…
