I know I have my profile set for "dating" but I am here to make friends just the same. I really prefer to make a friend and see where it goes to attempting to jump into dating out of the box.

People call me Daniel, D or big D depending on who it is. I used to be a big guy, and I am not afraid to admit it (hence big D in case you were wondering). I have lost 30 pounds and have some more to go, so what? Yeah, I am blind as a bat. I wear contacts most of the time because I like this little thing called peripheral vision.

I’m a pretty normal down to earth guy. I grew up in a real small town in west Texas and am really laid back because of it. I like taking it easy and spending time with my family. I spend my free time doing the typical guy things like playing video games, watching football, working out, fishing and camping. I am also a movie fanatic and quote them frequently. I am a nerd, I know!

I am not overly concerned with the way I dress most of the time. I don’t like vanity and prefer to wear whatever is comfortable-usually jeans and whatever shirt is appropriate. I can clean up when I need to, I just choose to leave the slacks to work hours. I prefer to date a girl who would rather be out having a good time than standing in front of the closet wondering which pair of shoes matches her purse.

I wouldn’t consider myself a bar or club kind of person, though I am not afraid to go to one. I prefer quieter places and smaller groups of people. It is hard to hold a conversation when the music is so loud you can’t even hear yourself think.

I have a 40 hour a week 8 to 5 office job and go to church on Sundays. I have been at the same company for 7 years so sometimes I just need a break to have some fun. Friday nights I am typically bowling with my league but there's always room for one more. The rest of the weekend is up in the air but you are most likely to find me by the lake or at a friend's working on a car.

My ideal girl…it’s difficult to say. Looks aren’t the most important thing to me. Though physical attraction is important in any relationship. However, personality is what I am concerned with first and foremost. I want someone who can hold a conversation, likes to laugh, is fun, nice, considerate, non-judgmental and just well-rounded person.

Something I have learned from this website... You can not judge a book by it's elaborate cover... story. I am a straight shooting, no bs kind of guy who refuses to tell, or accept, a lie. I have some crazy friends so if you want to get to know me, well, they are likely to pop in from time to time. That being said if you are someone who lived in a bubble where no one did anything out of the ordinary, keep on walking missy.

Honestly, I would like to meet a person in a more friendly casual setting the first time. I would prefer to meet up at a cafe somewhere then do something fun where we could still talk and get to know each other like miniature golf, bowling or even a walk through downtown. I want to get to know a person, not spend all my time trying to impress them.
