My thoughts on Chivalry: "Did it die, is it hiding, or was it killed?"

Let's look at the etymology or root of the word, firstly a man had to be QUALIFIED to be considered a man of chivalry in that he had to demonstrate courtesy, generosity, valor, & dexterity (self control). These traits were taught and groomed into men from a young age! We as men must ensure that we continue to foster the proper habits, courtesy's, organizational skills, classiness, cleanliness, and etiquette regardless of wether a woman is receptive or not.

I teach my son etiquette, and common courtesy's, I date my daughters so that they will understand how they must be treated, these things were taught to me by my elders and parents. Many men have become lazy to the integrity and standards of Chivalry, and many women have forgotten what should be accepted from men relative to Chivalry because of this the entire paradigm has shifted or fell!

What is today's acceptable standard relative to Chivalry??? I'll tell you this widely and overall it is a far cry from Chivalry itself!

Today's standards are based on a majority of ignorance, arrogance, stupidity, selfishness, and as P Ditty so greatly stated: "****assness"! Many male adults have reverted to the classlessness of society, one of belching, ball grabbing, profane/ vulgar/ slang language & filth. Many of today's men have no regard for the elegance of a beautiful, intelligent woman, respect for the elders of yesterday, or the reception & application of Biblical wisdom.

Chivalry isn't dead it's just been sitting on the shelf "Out Of Use" for the most part! We must begin to re-cultivate the use of Chivalry in our young men.

Women MUST step up the standards of what is acceptable! If women continue to be receptive to men who live in filth, use excessive profanity, drink excessively, call you out of your name, don't open doors for you, and men who are selfish, then women... You call it independence because you don't expect him to do those things because you can do for yourself and handle your own... This is ignorance!

How can women expect a higher standard while continually accepting lower standards? This in and of itself defines insanity!

Men should be chivalrous because it is an acceptable higher standard of character; Women should begin not to accept anything less than a higher standard of etiquette, courtesy, respect, valor, & integrity!

And... since you are defined by the company that you keep... if a man who does not have the quality of Chivalry, is accepted by a woman who is supposedly classy... what does this truly say about that woman?

My ideal first date would consist of brunch at a nice restaurant, we would then grab some snacks/ wine/ water/ and fruit place them in a cooler and go to a local lake to have a picnic, maybe take a boat ride, talking, laughing listening to some music and discussing life. Afterward I'd drop her off at home to freshen up and change into a nice evening gown or dress so that we can have nice romantic dinner at a lounge followed by some dancing, and have a few drinks.
