I can enjoy almost any activity. My favorite thing to do is to swim. I am fairly athletic and can play tennis or any sport adequately. I love just throwing a ball around. I go to the gym a few times a week. I can read about any subject and can at least fudge my way through a conversation on any topic. I really enjoy learning about evolution, anthropology, geography, philosophy and religion. I love traveling when the opportunity strikes, but I can be just as easily content lying on my floor and daydreaming.

Most people would describe me as very nice, tolerant, generous and a good listener. I am a very curious and driven person, and I enjoy learning about a wide array of subjects. I am a quiet down-to-earth jeans and flannel type of guy. I am not showy, and I do not like talking about myself. I am well-educated, but I manage a small family-owned business. The work is challenging and consuming but rewarding.

I have a sly, dry and irrelevant sense of humor. I'm like a funny Steve Martin. I love comedies like Chappelle's Show and Robot Chicken and dramas like Lost and Fringe. Any woman that I date should have a good sense of humor. I don't have much of an ego, and I don't mind making fun of myself to put people at ease (this works really well with children and in sales.)

I am very open-minded and tolerant of other people and beliefs. Politically, I think the government should stay out of people's wallets and bedrooms. I do have traditional personal and family values. I'm a "conservative" on economic issues and a "liberal" on social issues.

I would love to have a special lady in my life that I could appreciate and cherish. I am quite happy alone, and I will get married and have children only for the right reasons. My ideal match would have an innate sweetness and beauty that would propel me to provide her with spontaneous kind and romantic acts. I genuinely enjoy doing nice things for people, and I try to place the needs of others above my own. Any match should be willing to do the same for me. I am very loyal to my family.

I have varied tastes in music, but I mostly listen to psychedelic rock from the Beatles, America, The Doors, Cream, Pink Floyd, and some Grateful Dead (on a limited basis) and other bands from that period. I like Radiohead, Beck Leonard Cohen and classical music. I can not stand most of today's pop music. I am not a fan of rap or R$B, but I think Straight out of Compton is a masterpiece. I am starting to like metal more (I guess I am getting nostalgic).

I would like to do something that is fun, mellow and encourages conversation on first date. I think visiting a museum, beach or an art gallery is perfect for a first date.
