I am JD. I have just moved to NYC in order to go to NYU Graduate school this coming fall and as yet have been unable to find many people I have any interest in hanging out with regularly. I dont consider myself to be misanthropic just prefer to avoid people with little intelligence.

The options for a first date are wholly dependent on who I am asking. For an artistic type a film show, art show, or concert before dinner would be likely. For a more down to earth kind of person something simple like wine at a great spot in the park followed by a fancy restaurant might be in order. I like figuring out ideas for great activities out on the weekends, like rock climbing, kayaking, something at the beach and so on and then coming up with something simple and fun to do at home during the week like cooking a great meal and finding a good movie to watch huddled on the sofa.
