I love music, cooking (I am an excellent cook), and soulful conversation. I think that home is the most important place - Somewhere to be warm, comfortable, and safe. A respite for family and friends from the world. I have varied musical tastes, but like alt country, indie rock the best.

I hope to meet an attractive, intelligent, independent, articulate woman with an imagination. One who is mature when needed, and playful when not. I also hope that they think outside of the box, and are not unduly influenced by the world around them, but tend to create, explore, invent, and form ideas and actions first filtered through thought of thier own. Simple, huh?

I am proud of my kids. I have five wonderful children. Nothing has given more meaning to my life than my children. Raising a family, although very challenging, is a blessing. They are intelligent, athletic, and good looking!! Proud Papa - huh? My family -Dad, Mom (who has recently passed)brother and sisters are stable and very supportive. My Dad is a gregarious, healthy 70 years old, and all my siblings are professionals and college grads. I would hope that someone I meet has similar opinion of their own family and pride in the stability and strength from strong family ties and values.

I have been in a variety of places (both physical and mental in my life) and experienced many, many things. This makes me well rounded and also gives me peace of mind, confidence, and an optimistic outlook that comes only from experiences (mostly good - some hard)and a well grounded, personal faith.


Confidence – Doubt.
Passion – Reason.
Imagination – Logic.

I try to balance the above mentioned.

Not so long ago, I didn't know that I can express thanks for the blessings and good things in my life. I just took things for granted. Or worse, I was worried that if I was to acknowledge the blessings that I've received, somehow something "bad" would happen and take away those blessings.

Perhaps unconsciously I had this fear that bringing attention to the good things in my life might incur bad luck. So to play it safe, I went along without a grateful heart. You might be laughing now as you read this, and I thought that's rather silly of me too. But that's the belief I once held onto.

Now, I'm quick to express thanks whenever a good thing comes into my life. Somehow, there's always something to be thankful about!

There can only be one truth. It's impossible for two to exist. - Buffalo Springfield wrote 'Nobodys right if everybodys wrong'. I think if everybody's right, then everybody's wrong...

I already had my first date when I was 15. Perhaps this would be better if I was asked to describe what I would do on my 'next date'.

Anyway, for those who care...I made out with Alice Whitcomb on my first date. Her Dad was the former Governor of Indiana, and was running for Senate at the time. He was traveling like crazy - campaigning. He was divorced, and the only adult in the house was Alice's grandmother who could not see or hear. Alice was a junior in HS, I was a freshman. It was awesome. She drove and picked me up. We went straight to her house and made out. There you have it. My first 'date'. As I have grown older, my memories of this first date are still fond, but I have come to realize that Alice probably had similar dates many nights of the week with many boys while her father was beating the campaign trail. For history buffs - he lost the Senate race.
