I'm a 28 year old guy living in Orange County, freshly relocated from Seattle, and I'm still getting used to the switch!

I'm a very heart-on-sleeve person, I share my thoughts and feelings freely with others, and I really love it when others afford me the same luxury! I'm a happy person by nature, I always strive to make others around me happy (I get that from my mother) and I love to entertain. If you see me, I'll probably be smiling. I'm very in touch with my emotions, very passionate, very affectionate/sensual and a complete sucker for romance.

I work in technology, and I do have a geeky side to me for sure, but I can't recite star wars quotes, so rest assured...I'm safe to take in public! I enjoy an occasional video game, I'm a total nut for home theater/audio and I absolutely love expensive and often useless gadgets!

I'm also a bit of a sports nut, which is odd for a pro-geek. I'm a huge fan of Seattle teams (Mariners, Seahawks, UW athletics), which is quite interesting living here in the LA area surrounded by fans of rival teams! It's good fun, for sure. I'm also a big fan of getting out to the park and playing sports, from basketball to Frisbee, I'm up for anything! Hiking, biking and camping are certainly great ways to spend a weekend!

Looks wise, I'm Irish/German, so I'm of the blondish/brown hair variety (if I grow a beard, it's red.) and pale skin. Yeah, I've got freckles too. I'm 6'4", and a bigger guy, but I'm working on that. Yes, I could be working harder...so if you're physically motivated, and you're looking for a workout buddy, certainly get in touch! I'm in no way a lump, I can do pretty much any physical activity I want, so don't worry about me being glued to my chair all day. Quite the contrary actually, I'm always wanting to get up and go.

I love road trips, spontaneous trips to other places (Vegas, anyone?) or a simple walk through the park. I'm growing more and more fond of hanging out at the beach, too. I'm always down to go out and do stuff, no matter how silly.

Since this seems to be a huge thing in Orange County: No tattoos. Sorry, tattoo lovers. I can't ever think of anything I'd want drawn on my skin! Also, in the spirit of Orange County expectations: I'm not much of an MMA fan, I don't own a huge truck or ATV, and I don't surf.

What I'm looking for...

I'd love to meet someone smart, funny, witty and talkative, someone with whom I have an amazing connection and I can find myself on the phone with until 4am. I love the feeling of falling for someone, I'm a total romantic sucker. The big key for me in connecting with someone is the level and quality of communication. If you're in any way anti-social, if you keep to yourself, or if you're void of critical thinking capabilities, then I may not be the guy for you. I've been around long enough to know that these qualities are an absolute must for a relationship to work.

As far as looks go, all I ask is that you be clean and respect yourself enough to value your appearance! I don't mind bigger girls, in fact I tend to prefer them. Curves make me absolutely crazy. I'm totally drawn to dark hair and gorgeous smiles too. I've only dated white girls before, but I do not discriminate at all. This is just a product of living in Seattle where it's mostly white.

Please also keep in mind that I'm 29, very professionally focused, and well past my party days. I'm really looking for someone that's of my level, maturity wise, someone at my stage of life. If you're still looking for dates based on what "scene" the guy is in, I can honestly say we'll have nothing in common, I'm beyond that stage.

A thought on dating...

It can be absolutely exhausting. I've been there many times, and I'm sure you have too: you meet someone, you find yourself extremely interested in them, then it doesn't work for some reason and you find yourself feeling like you just ran a 100 mile sprint. Or, and this is often worse, you find that the person you've met is far more in to you than you are in to them.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but I really want to stress the fact that open, clear communication can help to avoid these tiring aspects of dating. If you're not interested in me after meeting, tell me! I won't hate you for it, and friendships can obviously happen from such things!

I know I'm not everyone's preferred type, and I know that every girl I meet wont be my preferred type, but please strive to be open and share your feelings with the person you're dating; you'll likely catch your breath much faster!

A note on my name

"RadioGuy" has been my name online for over 10 years now. My original career goal coming out of high school was to be a radio personality, and I still hold a passion for that career, however I quickly learned how explosively dynamic it was and sought something a bit more substantial. That being said, if given the chance, I'd jump on it.

First dates are a blast. The key for a great first date is to constantly communicate and interact. That means no movies, shows, concerts or other things that steal attention from that potentially awesome person you're with. Even an awful first date can at least be decently fun if the conversation is ok!

I personally prefer a bite to eat, a walk through something interesting (museum, store, whatever) and then heading to an awesome location, maybe grab a drink, and do something cheesy like watch the sunset. It's all about creating memories, and to do so you kinda have to go with the flow. Nothing is scripted in life, not even dates.

No, I don't dream about hooking up on the first date. I'm honestly way too sensitive to "hit it and quit it"...generally because I'm either attracted to the girl and want to see them more, or I'm not interested and ready to move on. Sex isn't a motivator when meeting people. If it's gonna happen, it'll happen, and letting it run it's course naturally makes it more exciting anyway.
