I grew up in Huntington Beach, where the weather is perfect, and subsequently lack a strong concept of the seasons. I graduated from UCLA, got a Masters from UCI, and finally figured out my profession as an elementary school teacher.

I live my life sincerely and seek the beauty in the world. But I still laugh.

I am generally a dedicated, hardworking person 9 months of the year, so I make it a point to pack my summers with fun. This past summer I went to Yosemite for a week, marveled at the granite formations and abundant waterfalls, and climbed Half Dome. I then spent a couple of weeks backpacking around Costa Rica. I have one more trip planned for the summer and that is a roadtrip to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

In my free time I like to do yoga, run, and hike. I do yoga for the strength of mind. I'm not a terribly competitive person, so I like to go running. It's solitary and you only compete with yourself. I'm still a beginner, but I would love to be able to run a marathon. I should perhaps start with a 10k, but I think that people who can run 26 miles are amazing. To prove that I'm not a girly girl who doesn't like to get dirty, I took up backpacking. I think it's neat to get back to basic survival. The days are spent cooking, eating, walking, finding water, and sleeping. It's such a simple life. One of my trips entailed hiking from Big Bear to Lake Arrowhead, which was 40 miles, over 4 days, with a 30 pound pack. It is a really rewarding way to travel.

One of my favorite books is The Alchemist, because I'd like to believe that the universe is conspiring in our favor. One of my favorite authors is John Steinbeck because he hits on universal truths. One of my favorite movies is In America.

That's a little bit about me. I've never done online dating before. During the school year, I didn't feel like I had time for it, but since I'm off for the summer, I thought I would try it out.

I hope to meet someone who fits with me and vice versa.

I would like something casual, perhaps just meeting for frozen yogurt or coffee and talking. If there is a connection, then we can make further plans.
