I'm originally from NY but I have lived all over the U.S. with my job. I have been here in SoCal for about 6 years and just haven't found that right person to take advantage of my surroundings. Brought up Irish / Catholic (damn guilt) but consider myself more spiritual that attached to any one religion. I'm a golden rule type of person, live & let live and do on to others as you would have them do to you, hopefully thats not to idealistic I am holding out hope that there's still some good souls out there. I won't make the mistake of portraying someone that you won't recognize if we meet so 100% honesty is to follow. I'm 43 6'2" Average build, brown hair & blue eyes and consider myself fairly attractive. 25 years ago I broke my neck in an accident that forces me to use a wheelchair for long distance and a crutch for short distance. I dont dwell on it or let it hold me back from anything but it would be extremely unfair if I didnt share that with you up front. I think I have a great albeit twisted sense of humor, somewhat cynical but always looking for the humor and lighter side to everything. I do take very seriously those people and things in my life I care most about. My biggest challenge in life has been getting others to see the person behind the the first impression, the "book cover" syndrome. I love to travel and have the urge to see so many destinations just prefer a companion to enjoy it with. I love to laugh and enjoy the simple things life can offer. As I get older what I want most is a partner to share those simple pleasures . How many more days will we sit alone on the couch Friday & Saturday nights telling ourselves "next week I'll get out and meet someone"? Those weekends come and go with greater frenquency lately and the best opportunities of our lives slip away at a blinding rate. Hopefully that stops here......lets live a little more, experience a little more, laugh alot more and stop watching opportunities fade! Its gonna suck when this ride is over and we realize we had our eyes shut the whole time.

An ideal first date is one that puts us both at ease. Very casual, coffee or drink, and hopefully some great conversation and laughter.
