OK, here goes:

I'm an easygoing guy with a high energy level and a boundless curiousity about everything- most kids eventually grow out of asking 'why'- I never did, much to my parent's annoyance. *chuckle* The great thing about all good answers is that they provoke better questions.

I may have my head in the clouds, but my feet never leave the ground. if that seeming paradox makes sense to you, we might not drive each other totally insane. I'm a practical idealist, a hopelessly romantic cynic, and a serious joker.

I'm hoping to meet people I'm as attracted to intellectually as on a 'chemistry' level- almost everything else is negotiable. Don't be fooled by the lack of a laundry list of things I'm looking for in a woman- I'm actually pretty picky; I've just accepted that most of what attraction is can't be reduced to a bullet-point list.

I read constantly (how else do you stand long TTC trips?), wish that I could have an iPod implanted into my head so I would never be without a soundtrack (when you need to hear 'Super Bad' you NEED to hear 'Super Bad'), have an incredibly low tolerance for tedium (to the point of making my own excitment just to escape the boredom), and occasionally get so lost in the abtuse philosophical implications of the everyday that I lose track of the practical upshot of what I was thinking in the first place- often with humourous (to others) consequences (I can't count the number of fire hydrants, concrete planters, and telephone poles I've walked or *nearly* walked into because I was absorbed in a conversation, for example).

As far as my direction in life goes, I've recently decided that I want to do something that has more meaning for me as a career, so I've opted to return to school for Social Work. Since my BA is in History, and I've been working in the financal industry for 8 years that's a fairly signifigant change in direction. I plan to eventually complete an MSW and hope eventually to be involved in advocacy and policy work in the addiction and mental health area.

I generally try to tailor first dates to shared interests, but possible locations could be Dream in High Park, AGO, ROM, a live artist that we both like, etc. Drinks in a pub are a high percentage fallback option ;)
