Generally the first thing noticable about me is my abiding eagernous to experience and learn every thing I come across. I relish each opportunity to grasp what life offers.

Yet I take the greatest pleasure in sharing these experiences with someone I love and that brings me to this site. I have no one to share the joy of something so simple as basking by the pool (yes, I sold out to reserving the beach for the long romantic walk under a setting sun). Even to drift asleep in the soothing embrace of a loving companion, a basic thing, seems beyond reach. And yes, I even yearn for those arguments that rapidly dissolve into silliness ,laghter, and forgiveness. In short I desire a companion, a cohort, a lover, and beloved to share life on life's terms, harvesting delight and peace in a world awash in haste.

My fantasy of an ideal woman is that she is so comfortable with who she is that regardless of body type or background her presence is striking. Above all, she must be witty, and with all due respect, hold her own in heated discussions of politics, morality, current events. Best of all is enthusiasm; giving better than what she takes, standing her ground with exhileration and poise.

I have no reason to shackle another human being. But, I will respect and admire the woman who is loyal out of love, spontaneously honest Life can be beautiful SO why waste the best of being mortal - love, romance, passion and spiritual freedom. I believe that when I care for someone, life takes on a deeper, more transcendent essence. Relationships truly do make us greater than we could ever aspire when alone.

About me;

Although I state that I'm looking for dating, I actually prefere a LTR.
Nevertheless, I enjoy companionship of every sort.

So, my stated preference is not rigid.

As to the basics:
I am quite tall with a lean body type, accented with subtle middle-aged pot-belly. (Believe me, I'm working on it!).

When people first meet me they say I'm aloof but soon are surprised that I could give that impression. I have a decent yet wry sense of humor. I love satire and parody. I tend to be quiet and contempletive, yet have all the excitement and giddiness of an adolescent anticipating the first date.

I am actually spiritual but I'm sitting on the fence. I have a faith fortified by music but that is under seige by science and rational thought.

I do work out and my favorite sports are backpacking, cycling and hiking.

I have a proclivity for the unusual. My favorite movie is "A clockwork Orange". I am a fan of Luis Bunel. I enjoy the minmalist music of Phillip Glass and John Adams. Yet Bach's "A Musical Offering" or Beethoven's ninth are moving.

My weakness is that I cannot rest untill my loved ones can sleep happy and content. That in the vast scheme of things, they are secure and worthy. For me, it's the journey not the destination that thrills me. Anyone up for a ride!.
