First of all I smoke. So I don't bother contacting people who don't smoke. But if I've viewed your profile and your not a fanatic about not smoking, drop me a line! I have dropped about 45 pounds and going strong, so I'm doing *something* about my health :)

Since I'm single again, I might as well post about that. You just never know who you might meet! About me.... this will be a snap! I love talking about myself, I'm like an expert on the subject!

Well... I'm a widower. My wife died of cancer back in early 2007. I've had time to heal, ready to start fresh.

I was married for over 20 years, so I'm well trained. Such things like... If your woman wants something, just buy it, get it, do it, whatever. You save an argument, she will use it against you forever, your going to end up doing it anyway, and you don't get cutoff. See? Well trained. I've also learned if she thinks I should go to bed, she isn't always interested in seeing I get my rest. AND I figured out what's up with that pink or red toe nail polish is all about! ;) So I've got those subtle aspects of women down, but I'll never really understand them :)

I'm a truck driver and I really like it. Actually I think I just love the air horn. It scares the piss out of people. I might want to scratch that... I have many skills which would probably pay more, but for now I love the job better than any I've ever had. It's refreshing to wake up in the morning knowing I'm going to enjoy my day. Getting paid to travel, meet new people, and seeing new sights is a great way to go. I drive local so it's nice going home every night too. I was a supervisor in a government job for over 10 years. I also have a certificate in heating and cooling (48 credit hours) and have done that and related building maintenance for years also. About 10 years is my limit on any one career path *smile*.

I'm very laid back and casual. No drama needed, thanks! I've been told women really need drama every now and then. So I suppose I could pretend to be angry every now and then if that helps. I live for coffee, computer online games, movies, I have about 600 DVDs and Blu-rays (no porn, lol). I bought "Dirty Dancing" on blu-ray, any points for that? I may even watch it! So I'm always up for a movie. I love technology, HDTV, IPods, blu-ray, the internet, Sirius, computers, things with flashing lights, and all that nerd stuff. I like shiny things and bring them back to my nest. I HAVE been to comic conventions and love meeting famous SciFi actors, collecting autographed pictures of my favorites, and listening to their humorous lectures. I really like most SciFi, horror, and comedy movies. I like to cuddle around the TV. I love a campfire.

In my natural habitat I like movies, hanging at the house, going out to eat and maybe a few drinks every now and then. I like to tease people, can't help it :) I guess I'd *love* hanging at the house eating and drinking while watching a movie! Although I'm not into drinking alone much. I love sleeping in on the weekends and staying up late. I like street fairs, renaissance festivals, zoos, museums, and such. I like camping every now and then. I'm not really a sports person. I like watching NASCAR just because it looks awesome on a HDTV! With other sports I can watch playoffs and such, but that's about it. I could live at Cedar Point, and I'm a sucker for tourist trap places like Irish Hills. I do love camp fires and have one in the back yard rather often. Neighbor is still pissy about torching his garage, but even the firemen said it looked awesome. It's just a great place to have a reflective conversation.

I like going for walks in the park, but only if I have someone to walk with. I've been sternly told following people around at the park isn't the same thing though. I could stare at the water for days it seems. I've learned it takes much longer than you'd think for the bodies to float back up. Camping is a great excuse to just get away from it all and hug some trees. I have year round access to a cottage in Atlanta, MI if you like to get out of town every now and then. Listen to the quiet, hear the crackle of a fire, or see an elk wander through the yard. I like holding doors open, pushing in your chair when out at dinner, and showing respect and love in little ways.

I have a daughter who lives in NY. My son lives locally. We'll see how long that lasts. But I'm ready to do up his room! Just haven't decided what I want to do with it! Currently it's in the style of art deco storage.

I'd like to meet someone that I could share a smile, a touch, a gaze with. I would hope she could share my sense of humor, which is a bit off beat. I would hope she could smile and laugh freely and possess an understanding warmth. Someone that appreciates movies, which are a great love of mine. I'm open to any type of relationship right now, I'm just addicted to that feeling of being alive when I'm with someone I enjoy. If your a MST3K fan we may be soul mates. ;)

I believe in "God" in my own way. I'm pretty sure God believes in me too, it sure seems that way. If you met me I doubt you'd think of me as the church type. Maybe because I don't actually attend. I'm not in any form a zealot, that's for sure. I'm a fan of reading about verified near death experiences and it's changed my views a great deal. It's an interesting discussion.

I do think I'm a closet Dairy Queen chocolate malt junkie. You know, where they make it with vanilla ice cream and and the chocolate flavor? It's soooo good!!! I slowly insert the straw and run my hand smoothly over the condensation on the cup, I like to... *cough* Ya, those are really good!

My aspiration in life is that if a comet hits earth, it will land wherever Nicolas Cage is. If you can help with that I will be in your debt.

The bottom line is probably this. I'm not aggressively looking for anyone. I kinda feel if it's meant to be it will happen. I'm usually rather content with my current life, and you don't miss what you don't have. If your interested, you should probably drop a note. My ideal match would probably be a BIG movie fan. Like chillin' at the house and watching a movie, or having a few beers around the fire in the back yard. I like gals that are slim to average, not overly tall, and I prefer shoulder length or longer hair. I can cut slack, especially if your a cute millionaire :D You should know who the Beatles are. I don't fall in love at first sight, but I know the feeling. I go slow and easy till I know someone. Write me if you want. I like "chat buddies" :)

I seem to have run out of room up top, lol. But in general... I'm laid back and just naturally easy going. I understand people can get nervous and it's perfectly natural. I can ramble on for hours if I need to, but I'm more likely to ask you things about yourself to help the conversation flow and learn about each other. I'm warm, confident, and secure with myself, and people seem to open up around me and feel comfortable. I can be good for a grin too!

I do read other guys profiles. See what I'm up against! I've noticed they often list attributes that I've never thought to list! These are some of my favorites! "I have no felonies". That's probably good. "I don't beat my women". Not sure how many women they have, but anyway, I think that is a fine trait in a man also. I will admit I've done a little spanking. "I don't drink and get abusive". This is also something I agree with. "I'm not a rapist". I concur, some of the finest people I know are also not rapists. I could probably work up a pirate outfit though if you wanna goof around with that :P So if I've forgotten to list some of these fine manly traits in the past, I would like to state publicly that I also comply to these outstanding levels of quality.

I haven't been aggressively looking for anyone. I've gotten kinda comfortable being alone. So if you wanna chat. Drop me a line. I'd like to find someone, but after the last few dates, I don't know :) I seldom message anyone even if I like their profile. Especially if they don't smoke. Nasty habit.

First date, meet up? Something casual, relaxing, some place where I could focus on a person and get to know them. I'd love dinner and a few drinks where the lights are dim and it's a relaxing place to talk. Maybe lunch, a drink, a cup of coffee, if you just want a quick look see. Or we could just say to hell with it and go out and get hammered *grin*. Well if your driving maybe :D I'm all about going slow and easy. I wouldn't want to jump into a relationship till I'm comfortable with it. I'm open to most first meeting ideas.
