Hi,

Welcome to my profile on this site. I'm relatively new here, and still trying to figure out what's what.

I'd describe myself as easygoing and even-keeled. I don't get worked up over things, and my drama factor is nil. I am a habitual non-optimist, I have a sarcastic sense of humour, and I tend to be somewhat introverted.

Right now I have a pretty good job in the software industry. (More on this later)

As for non-work things that I do, I've spent the last few years experimenting with photography, and I think I've finally gotten to the point where I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and (sometimes) fix it. So.. with an OK handle on the technical side of things, I'm trying to develop some kind of artistic angle and actually, you know, "say" something. And of course build up the courage to shove cameras in people's faces.If you're curious, message me and I'll send you a link to my Flickr.
I also like cycling. Also sleeping (it's a hobby too. Really)

Musically, I listen to a lot of things that nobody else I know really likes. It's fun being the guy who's into that "weird stuff", but it's lame having so few people to share your excitement with. So if you're willing to suffer through new things, that's a huge plus! I really like electronica, my favourites being Autechre, Basic Channel, Drexcyia, Aphex Twin, and Clark. I also enjoy "post punk" (Gang of Four, The Birthday Party, Sonic Youth), and funk like Parliament/Funkadelic and Miles Davis's stuff from the '70s. I like some indie rock (including the Constantines, the greatest Canadian band ever), as long as it's not too twee or derivative. And I have a big crush on experimental music in all its forms. And that's probably all I should say about this subject.

I'm ambivalent about the traditional date-over-dinner process. Not that I have anything against food (no way!), but the whole presumption/formality of it kinda freaks me out. I'd rather go somewhere relaxed where you can hear yourself talk, have a few drinks, and chat.
