I have busy and fulfilling work and social lives and am the dedicated mom of a 12 and a 15-year old who lived with me full- time until recently. Now that they spend half their time with their Dad (he recently returned to the area after living out of town for several years) and my career is firmly established, I'm ready to date. I'm a DC native with a local extended family, but spent the middle 10 years of my life in NYC. I'm serious and funny, irreverent and thoughtful, social, intellectually curious, and politically on the liberal end of the continuum. I have broad interests, and am most comfortable around other people who do, too. I've spent a lot of time getting a psychological handle on myself. I try to be emotionally responsible, but I own it when I'm not. I'm enjoying my new freedom and the possibility of meeting new people, so I'm not in a hurry. But I am open to moving toward commitment if it feels like it makes sense for us. If that happens, it's important that you love kids (not looking for you to parent mine, just integrate them and treat them well-- I'll do the same for yours) . I'm drawn to a range of physical types, but always to warm, funny, affectionate, non-judgmental and emotionally available men with an intellectual edge and lots of energy for life and new experiences.

Once we've chatted, we'll have a sense of the overlap in our thinking about what makes sense-- coffee, a drink, dinner. I love cozy candle-lit spots as well as loud beer dives. Sushi in the roof of Perry's in Adam's Morgan is a favorite spot.
