1. In a way, my hobbies are the organizing principle of my day-to-day life. Having mostly given up the practice of law, I now have the time and energy to build a life around socializing, consuming culture and exercising. I have a plethora of friends around the world, I see numerous shows and movies each month, and I go to the gym practically every day (mostly to take yoga classes, these days).

2. Although the ultimate goal is to live in a dynamic yet changeless state of peace, if I can have a little fun every day I won't complain.

3. Like everyone else I am ordinary and unique. Some of the underpinnings of my particular brand of uniqueness are my broad and deep education, the fact that I am extremely well traveled (and even lived in Paris for eight years) and that I am blessed with a great awareness of the importance of having a head and a heart.

4. I am always willing to expand my horizons in terms of music. I love the Great American Songbook and its best interpreters, but also enjoy classical music, rock & roll, jazz, tango and non-Western music.

What I would do on a first date depends on what I think would bring comfort and pleasure to both parties on the date. I tend to go straight to having a meal together followed by a long walk in the park or we could eschew the food and just take a long walk in the park. If you just want to have a coffee or a drink, that can be fun, too.
