Most ladies see a beard and all of the signs of burly testosterone-filled guy, which is not the case... quit judging a book by its cover.
I moved to Portland ME since marrying a lady from the Northeast. (I traveled a lot for work and thought it nice she have her parents closer than one the other side of the continent). After our divorce, I stayed to be close to my kid while he grows up. I used to find Portland to be one of the unfriendliest towns in all my extensive traveling. Since living here for over a year, I have found it has some redeeming qualities e.g. the restaurants. Portland is a foodie town. Still, I think I will eventually move somewhere else by 2015. You see, I can live anywhere in the world not because of wealth, but because of my skills. I currently live/work in Old Port.

I have good health, personal hygiene, and genes. (athletic, educated, and humble)

I work for money (no Govt hand-outs here). I can afford to play hard as a result of working.

I enjoy archery, biking, boating, camping, climbing, dancing, dining, drinking, driving (never after drinking except in this list), fishing, hiking, picniking, swimming, skinny-dipping, talking, traveling, walking, yoga, and many more activities.

I would like a girlfriend to share said activities and possibly more.

I made this profile in hope someone cool, caring, and collected says hello.

PLEASE NOTE: I lied on my profile. I do occassionally enjoy a cigar once in a while. It's something that I do to celebrate. It is not mandatory, but I do enjoy them and would not expect to be chastised for it.

I am a bit picky when choosing a mate. I prefer to meet sooner than later... it enables us to ascertain compatibility/chemistry sooner rather than later. I am open, honest, and quite forthcoming towards my take on this world. Sometimes this is to my detriment, but I rather come forth as myself than what you want to see and hear. I expect the same honesty in return. Such honesty affords us the chance to walk away before having to run away.
I am open to most venues. Let's keep it simple and easy.
