About Me
NOTE: I hate having a text box represent who I am, but what are ya goin' to do? Fuggetaboutit!
I'm originally from Texas, and I've relocated to LA for work. I'm impassioned with film, animation, and travelling (when I find time). I've recently turned into a gym rat, although I don't intend on juicing myself (nor will you ever see me fist-pumping). Once you get to know me, I'm a goofball, and I can't help but laugh at things most people don't. I'm very mischievous under the right circumstances, but during normal business hours I'm a hard worker. I like high-brow films, but love low-brow cartoons.
I try to be in a perpetual state of improvement and observation as an artist and a person. If I'm not growing or learning in anyway, I get very impatient. I have bouts of passion when I discover something new that fascinates me. I have nerdy tenancies, such as getting really excited about certain movies coming out. I went to Comic con last year, and was elated when I got to see Mike Judge, John Kricfalusi, and Tim Burton.
I think I come off as a "nice" guy, although internally I'm poignant with my opinions. I often silently question conventions and world views, either out of amusement or to better understand what the hell is wrong with people & to figure out where I should stand. I try to have my own sense of morality & judgement, because I think so many people don't. I sometimes think that if I didn't do art professionally, I would have studied philosophy (or gotten a job somewhere with my computer science degree. *GAG*)
I love a good tiring hike, and the evening that follows it. I've just gotten into boxing, but nothing too serious. I used to play a lot of video games, but recently not so much. I've been trying to find a new hobby, and scuba seem cool at the moment. I've been to Europe a couple of times, and I want to go back. I'm seriously contemplating taking a week to go see Sweden.
I'm currently working for the man as an animator for DreamWorks animation. It's a pretty cool gig, but I crave more out of life. As a result, my gears are ever-turning, and I'm trying to keep my craft up by learning outside of work.
