Fortunately free time is something I have a lot of. I am self-employed and schedule my own work hours. I don't really have any hobbies that haven't become business related, I am deeply interested in early Native American culture and am an avid collector of Native American relics which is my primary hobby that has become a business. I buy, sell, and trade museum quality stone, bone, clay, and pottery relics from the Paleo, Archaic, Woodland, Mississipian, and Historic periods. The rest of my business-related time is spent managing my older brother's rental properties. I like photography, computers, good movies, concerts, good conversations and long walks along a beach or scenic trail, just about anything really as long as I'm in the company of someone that I enjoy being with. I'm very domesticated and am content just spending time at home and being with my children. I'm relatively quiet but can be very talkative if the topic is interesting enough. I'm far from being the "average guy," or a "good ole' boy." Some people misunderstand me and wrongly believe I'm stuck-up, and arrogant, quite the contrary, I'm friendly enough, just a little blunt with my brand of honesty sometimes.
I suppose my strong points are my education and intelligence, and no, they're not one and the same. I'm a realist who finds his freedom from embracing truth and reality, although truth and reality doesn't seem to be a very popular endeavor these days, perhaps that's why Thomas Gray wrote, "where ignorance is bliss, Tis' folly to be wise." I'm an honest person and respect that trait in others, if I tell you something you can believe it. That being said I don't go around revealing every single life detail in the course of one conversation. My dignity and sense of self worth are important to me and in the end that's all any of us have. I consider myself mature, but not over the hill, I've always felt and acted much younger than I am, and most people say I look younger than I am, although my age does seem to be showing these days. I detest jealousy, lying, blame, violence, vengeance, and all other destructive traits and behaviors that humans exhibit from time to time. I don't like drama, or "drama queens," not into games, and definitely don't have time for the dumb stuff. I treat people the way I would like for them to treat me, and if someone treats me poorly they don't get a second chance, "burn me once shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me!" I will not date married women or women that have other boyfriends, I will not waste my time on users, or even consider dating someone who is addicted to any drug, alcohol, gambling, sex, spending, etc., It's all the same to me, sheer insanity! I like younger women, that may sound shallow but I've always dated younger women and physical attraction is a major component of a romantic relationship and it simply will not work if one person is not physically attracted to the other. That's not to say that that's all there is to it, chemistry means everything to me, you could be a super model and if there is no chemistry between us it's not going to matter, it will not work out. I find many things attractive in a lady, neatness, cleanliness, intelligence, independence, dignity, good values, humor, wit, honesty, open-mindedness, the ability to admit being wrong about something, kindness, tenderness, courtesy, self-respect, self-motivation, good culinary skills, there are many, many personal attributes that I find attractive. Being from Eastern Ky there isn't many things to do locally that allows me to meet potential dates or like-minded people, and at my age I find it particularly difficult, to be honest, most of the women I've met are not people I would even think about trying to have a relationship with, most are on drugs, have lots of personal problems and baggage, and I don't feel like trying to save anyone these days, been there, done that and not looking forward to doing it again anytime soon.

First dates are often awkward and determine first impressions and whether or not there will be a second date. I'm fairly flexible and can enjoy doing just about anything as long as I am enjoying the company I'm with, so on a first date I would try to make sure it's really something my date enjoys or is comfortable with. I believe in keeping things simple, so going out to dinner at a nice restaurant, or at least one with good food is always good, a movie afterward is nice. I like concerts, those are usually fun. Geography can create limitations and unfortunately for me I live in an area with very few decent restaurants and practically no night life to speak of, so being creative and innovative is necessary if I want to show my date a good time.
