Well this is where I'm supposed to tell my life story in a few paragraphs, eh?! Well, here's the short version. I lived in Texas for 28 years, then I moved to Denver, Colorado right after I got out of college. I was in Denver for less than a year, and then moved to Arkansas over 2 years ago to be closer to my sister. (Who subsequently moved back to Texas, afterward.) In the 2 years that I've been here, I've been doing almost nothing but working. I usually work 5-6 days a week, but when I have days off, I volunteer for weekend work anyway. I run the receiving dock for a food plant, and that always allows me to have available overtime; on top of already long hours. The reason I choose to work is because in all the time I've been in Arkansas, I haven't really met anyone or made any friends, whatsoever. On my days off, I'd rather be making money that just sitting at home.
Right now I'm to the point where I'd like to work a bit less and try meeting some people. All other aspects of my life are really coming into place, but I'm honestly quite lonely, as of lately. I'm not looking for anything specific, but it would be nice to find some people that enjoy the same things as I do. I'm not really much into the "club scene" at my age, but I can still occasionally go to one and have a great time. I'm really more the type of person that enjoys being on the lake, or fishing, camping and those type of things. Having no social life has made me an avid collector of movies, so I love watching those as well. I'm a pretty simple person who has most of what I want in life, and am working towards the few things that I don't. I'm very ambitious in my career, but I'm still missing the human element.
I was married when I was very young, but that ended quite abruptly after my then-wife had at least 3 affairs on me, and ended up pregnant by one of them. Since then I've not had many relationships. In the last 10 years, I've dated only about four or five women; and only two of those were serious. I considered marriage once again when I was 25, but my fiance, at the time, cheated on me; which is when I decided to move to Dallas to go to college. I've only had one serious relationship in the last 6 years, and that ended in the same manner as all of my relationships have...she left me for someone else. I've had a bad run of luck in the "love" department, so to speak. Every woman I've been involved with has lied and cheated on me. The good thing is that I'm not jaded from these experiences. I believe that you can't hold the actions of other people against the next ones to come along. In a way I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. I believe you make the woman you're with feel like a queen, and treat her as such.
When I'm not working, my free time is usually spent either watching movies or writing. I've been writing since I was about 4 years old, and it's the one thing I'm truly passionate about. Mostly I write poetry or spoken-word, but lately I've been attempting short stories and different literary structures.
I'm a big kid at heart and I love to laugh, and even more so love to make those around me laugh. I've always been good at making those around me feel good and I enjoy having that quality.
Other than that, I'm not sure what else to say. I'm a fairly simple person that has old-fashioned values. I've been told that I have a sort of "used-to-be bad boy" quality that gives a protected feeling to those around me, but in the end I'm a big ole' softy, at heart.

Update: I'd like to say one thing; I've noticed since being on here, that some people are quite inconsistent. Please, do not send me messages saying "hope to hear from you" or "want to talk?" and then disappear after I respond. Don't appear interested if you're not. Thank you...

Well if this isn't a generic question if I ever heard one! Here's something even better: if you actually message me after reading my profile, or aren't one of those vain women who has "have to be HOT to contact me" on their profile, and aren't one of the many people on here who seem to message someone once or twice and then never talk again....THEN the "first date" issue may come up and be of more relevance...
