My personality and character:

I am a pretty "family values" kind of guy. I am pretty close with my family and I recognize I have been given a precious gift in life. I believe in empathy and taking care of my friends when they're down. I believe in giving second (and fifth) chances. Related to that, I consider myself to be pretty patient.

All that said, I am not exactly "boy next door" material and I have an edge. I hope that didn't sound totally lame. haha

I am not that outdoorsy (wow my spellcheck didn't see "outdoorsy," I guess it's a real word!) but I like to admire the stars on a clear night.

Finally, I try to laugh at almost everything. Maintaining a sense of humor is a priority!


My life currently:

I am a senior music education major. My emphasis is classical guitar. My goal is to become either a general music teacher or an arts and humanities teacher. Clearly my reason for this choice is because the incredibly large sums of money that teachers make.

If all goes according to plan, I will be student teaching next fall.

In my spare time (which honestly I have a lot of at the moment), I listen to and write music. Some of my favorite artists include MC Hammer and Milli Vanilli. As you can see, I only listen to the latest, most critically acclaimed, culturally significant music.

I also spend a good deal of time with my family (specifically my brother) when I can.

All-in-all, I lead a pretty quiet, normal life. :)

Here are some random facts about me:

I like movies with poignant social commentary like Fight Club, V for Vendetta, or American Psycho. Also interesting videos of small animals on YouTube.

I have traveled quite a bit. Two trips to Europe, one to Brazil, and nearly everywhere in the US.

I have an awesome cat named Der Metzgermeister. She was named after Armin Meiwes. (just Google it)

I love pizza. Actually pretty much any Italian food is great.

I am a Richard Dawkins fan.

I love psychology. I think knowing why you are the way you are is key to being at peace with yourself and understanding others. It's also a key to genuine empathy, I think.

Politically, I hold beliefs from all sides of the spectrum. It would be a struggle to find a label for it if asked.

Movies and dinner are OK places to start, but honestly, can you really get to know someone in a super dark theater (other than in the biblical sense)?

I think my ideal first date would feature a healthy amount of time just sitting and talking about stuff. It lets you get a feel for whether or not there's a legit connection happening. But I'm open to just about anything.
