I'm sheepish about this sort of thing and I have to tell you that I'm skeptical of these sort of websites. My luck has not been good. Im trying to sort out the nut cases, lol. By the way, what is it with this "Do you own a car?" question ?? Why not add: Do you live with your mother ??? Do you have a job ???

Oh, and the question, "Do you do drugs?" positioned right there in between "Do you have children ?" and " Do you want children? " Am I on the right site here ??

Im curious to find any drug users who'll answer "yes" to that and then say they want kids. I guess, even worse, would be those who have kids and use drugs. I don't think we're talking tylenol here either.

I thought I knew what "intimacy" meant but I see most women on here say "DO NOT MESSAGE IF YOU WANT AN INTIMATE ENCOUNTER." Hmmm, what's up with this ? I'm thinking the guys are corrupting this concept and trying to make this just a hook-up site. Wait a minute, I know the guys are corrupting this concept of intimacy since I also see a lot of " DO NOT MESSAGE IF YOU ARE MARRIED." Married people surfing a dating site ????

Body Type and Pictures - Oh my lord have mercy. DO NOT POST PICTURES THAT ARE 20 YEARS OLD ! Sheeze. What is it with people who will post pictures that are ancient, 50 pounds lighter and gobs of hair fuller ?? I'm starting to grey and thin a bit, as my pics show, but I don't wanna lie about that. Sooner or later, if this thing works, the other person is gonna see the real thing anyway. Do you really want to shock them upon meeting ?

Oh well, you know, this is all making me feel very old-fashioned and naive. I'd expect better behavior out of everyone.

Let's see. About me. Well, I'm not really "after" anything. I'm not trolling for a "good time" partner and I have no problems meeting people in the real world. I AM sort of new to this area so I've been curious about the people living here. I'm originally from the northen gulf coast of Florida and Alabama. I've met a few very nice people here who I consider very close friends.

I am a very active person. I like to run and workout. I also love to hike, some rock climbing, bicycling (both road and mountain bicycling), kayaking, canoeing (kayaking is better, though) and many other things.

I like to travel and learn the history of new places. Having intelligent conversations is also rewarding for me.

I like all forms of music.

I am big on live theater, plays and symphonies etc. My closet attraction that I know youll think is weird is that I like Italian opera. (Germans arent too bad.) Yes, I swear. I'm not making it up. Its really good if you know what to listen to. Some of it is boring but the things I like are exciting and great. (You dont have to attend those if you really dont want.)

I also am a kids-type person. I really like kids and doing things with kids. They have better movies to watch too, in my opinion. The genuine innocence of children is one of the greatest assets of our culture.

I do NOT smoke and, really, prefer not to be with people who do. I'm not a big drinker either although I do enjoy a good wine with dinner sometimes or a cold beer every once in a while. I DOOO like chocolate and I am fighting a current addiction to Oh Henry bars (Canadian version of Baby Ruth). Thats one reason I do all this active stuff, lol.

I'd love to be around someone who was COMPLIMENTARY to me rather than someone who is too much LIKE me. That could get boring. I like diversity and I need to learn and see other perspectives from someone bringing another view of things to the relationship. Yes, we can. We need change ! Cough cough.

Anywaaaaays, I often feel that all the good ones are already taken and I realize that, once you're over 30, the pickins get very slim. But, what the heck, I've nothing to lose checking this out.

Oh, and the age should read 49 and not 43 . Im having trouble with this profile change thing and cant get it to change that.
