I believe that I am living a good life, most likely a delusion but nonetheless a happy one. I have no baggage or very little, things are what they are. I believe that I would like to find a good woman that has similar tastes, simple but not plastic, to date and to share occasions with.

I am primarily a home body, as a hobby I like to complete renovations, I have finished and recently sold my last home and I am currently working on my new house. That sort of thing mostly keeps me out of trouble. Other than that, I read (anything) or watch movies to relax; in the summer I play golf and in the winter I go to the gym three or four times a week to ride the bike, swim or play squash.

My goals and aspirations seemingly remain simple. I enjoy my work, I like the people I work with and I try to get along as best as I can with everyone. I believe I have enough means to live comfortably and I have a bit to spare, aside from which I am happy to pursue my own hobbies.

Although I have been a smoker forever, I stay fit, perhaps a bit on the skinny side. I was competitive in sports, not too competitive anymore. Perhaps anti-competitive. I will play any game or sport for fun, I don't have to be particularly good at something to have fun. Card and board games are ok too.

I am reserved for the most part, regardless I have a good sense of humour, I like to laugh, including at my own expense.

I am a good listener but I don't believe that I am qualified to give advice other than to avoid people that want to give advice. In general I do not have great expectations of people, I have been told that I am unassuming, I try to be polite / considerate of everyone, more so for friends.

Mostly I have simple tastes, which most people I know seem to appreciate and I am easy to please in the sense that I am appreciative of the effort.

I would prefer to meet someone that can find peace and quiet on their own terms, pursuing a meaningful hobby, going for a walk and or simply enjoying a quiet conversation. No offence to the Type A personalities, because I have had my moments (sometimes years) too, but I would not get along well with any person that has their life full of occasions and is hastily busy at every moment doing things that are precluded by "I must" or "I have to do" X/Y/Z.

Music; I will listen to just about anything. Might even sing along now and again.

First date = meet for coffee, or something similar, perhaps a walk in a scenic area of the city. Any setting that would be suitable for a conversation.

Other dates:
Comedy club, bite to eat and something to drink, some conversation. Senators game. Movies, Museums, Galleries, Small venue live entertainment (includes NAC). Book hunting. Skate on the canal (best in winter). Day trips. Anything with a chance of being enjoyable which includes any opportunity to have good food, drink and conversation. I am up for just about anything excepting possibly life threatening activities like skydiving, bungy jumping, running of the bulls, etc., I am saving those for when the retirement funds are running low or for when I am in my 90s, whichever comes first.
