It is difficult to condense one's personality and essence down to a nutshell. A keyword I would use to describe myself is multi-dimensional. I guess this is reflected in my taste in music, which is quite eclectic. I enjoy classical music, opera, swing and dance music, folk, bluesy jazz, and world traditional music. In appropriate contexts, I can be funny, humorous, and droll. Yet certainly I am committed to my values while respectful of others whose viewpoints may differ. In fact, I am interested in how people come to see the world the way they do.
I enjoy being active, and would prefer participating in sports rather than watch them on TV. My preferred outdoor activities are kayaking, hiking and climbing, and being out in nature generally. Yet I am also equally comfortable enjoying some quiet "down time" at home, watching movies, reading, and cooking together. I am in excellent health and physically fit and I go to the gym regularly. I love to travel and to experience different cultures. I am a lifelong learner. I don't hold grudges. I enjoy friendly competition but am more interested in creative challenges and experiencing the surprise and joy of discovery. Friends and past partners have described me as a good listener and insightful.

My idea of a great first date would be to meet at the Met museum to enjoy a tour, or go for a walk in Central Park on a sunny day and then sit back and relax at a nice cafe and enjoy the enfolding conversation. Any time and place where we both can relax, be ourselves, laugh a little, and enjoy each other's company.
