I am retired widow and am contented with my life as it is but I admit to getting a bit lonely sometimes at the weekend when my girlfriends are with their families. (My daughters live in another State.) I would like to take another trip overseas at some stage, possibly during 2010. I live in a dog palace and enjoy the company of my two doggie children (most of the time). I breed budgerigars for exhibition. I like to paint and sew. I enjoy the time I spend performing voluntary work for local organisations but this does not infringe on my personal space.

I especially like music and my tastes are varied. I love a good movie.

I really like to have friends over for a meal and a drink ... love my friends!

I don't really like watching sport on television but understand that other people do, so long as it is not all weekend every weekend. There is life away from the TV set and computer, believe it or not. (It's true.)

I would like to find a male companion who genuinely likes and feels very comfortable in the company of a woman. I would like a best friend .... someone to share my life with ... someone to talk to ... to listen to ... someone who is interested in what I have to say too. I am a relatively intelligent person with a mind and ideas of my own but am also willing to compromise when necessary. I need to retain my individuality even in a relationship so my ideal companion would have some interests of his own which would give me time to pursue mine. Wouldn't it be wonderful to share the good times and bad with someone we really care about ... for the years we have left? I think so. If you do too, please contact me ... what an adventure!!!

By the way, I am well aware of the pitfalls of internet romance so if you are a con artist or a scammer, please don't waste your time on me. I am not the least bit interested in men who are just looking for somewhere to live and someone to look after them.

I am a relatively easy going person who enjoys a variety of experiences and so long as I felt safe, I would be happy to agree to most suggestions for a first date.
